Nice hotel and relatively cheap for this town’s standard. Good location, not far from the city centre. No airco, so keep that in mind when there’s a heat wave ;-) The staff is very kind. Breakfast is fairly simple but alright considering the price
This is a great place to stay. It is next to the Festspielhaus, and a short walk to the main shopping district (old city center). There are several restaurants within a few minutes walk. One can park in front of the hotel. If that is full, then the parking garage next door is available. The front desk team was very friendly, professional, and helpful. The breakfast server was exceptional. Housekeeping was also friendly and professional. The hotel is easy to find and on a main street coming into the city.
A first visit to Baden Baden and I was looking for a comfortable, convenient hotel that was not one of the very expensive Palaces. The Hotel Schweizer Hof seemed a good fit. And I think it was, overall a reasonable value. There was no hotel parking but an underground public garage in the next block worked OK. Our room, a double comfort, was large and even opened onto a small patio, which would have been delightful in warmer weather. The included breakfast was adequate. Staff were efficient. I was disappointed that the room was quite old and the bathroom very small and dated. Also, although it was possible to walk into town and to the main museums, the hotel is really a bit far from the restaurant area. Based on this, I'll look elsewhere next time we're in Baden Baden.
My wife and I stayed for one night before she suffered an accident (not in the hotel) and ended up in hospital. The hotel was amazingly kind and helpful in getting me a room during the busy period and keeping the duration of stay flexible. I was only had a small bag of clothes with me and they even did my washing for free! The buffet breakfast is superb. The hotel is handily located for the town centre and there is a bus stop right outside if you need to go to the train station or further afield.
Twin room spacy (Number 26) - however the equipment is from an earlier century (90th?) I find it a disadvantage that the reception is not available 24 hours. However it is no problem at all for a late arrival - you just call the hotel and get instructions on how to get your key.The process is very easy. The breakfast is a buffet and fully sufficient. The best thing is the location next to the opera...easy to walk there and get bach.
This hotel located right on the way to Baden-baden town centre. It is perfect if you were driving. Room were spacious and clean. It is abit aged but comfortable so it doesn't bother me. Breakfast were mainly cold dishes, they only warm dish is boiled eggs. Other than this, there is good selection of cold meats, cheeses, pate spread, selection of bread rolls, fresh fruits, juices and nice coffee available. There is a lift as well and rooms were spacious so it is quite a friendly hotel for some less able tourists.
We spent two nights in this hotel. The rooms comfortable and elegantly furnished and have lovely high ceilings. They were very clean. Breakfast is a cold buffet with fresh bread, cheese and meat, yogurt and cereal, and nice hot coffee or tea. The staff was polite. Having read all that, you might think that this hotel deserves at least a four dot rating, and indeed it would if the internet worked. But during the two days we were there, we were unable to get an internet connection that was sustainable for a sufficient period of time to actually answer an E-mail or find out about things in the area. In this day and age, the internet needs to be in working order. This hotel advertises high speed internet, but in our experience (in our room, dining room, the hallway and stairwell) it was no speed internet. If you need to use the internet, we would not recommend this hotel.…
We were totally surprised by our room, it was more like a suite (perhaps we were upgraded) we didn't ask. Our room was very large overlooking the back garden and we had a large deck with seating. Now I love having a deck or balcony to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee or a wine. Our bathroom was huge, a walk in shower plus a large soaking tub, very modern bathroom with double sinks. No complaints from us. Totally pleased with this room and hotel. We managed to park outside for free based on the timing of our arrival back to the hotel after a day of exploring. Breakfast the next day, again a great typical German breakfast. We found the location easy to get to by car and around by foot.
The rooms are tidy, clean and fine for the price. It is quite centrally located, 7 min into the centre and has all you need. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is okay too. The staff is friendly, the breakfast has all you need. There is parking just in front of the hotel and if you have a motorbike you can park in the courtyard beside.
We paid 106 euro for a double room. We asked for separate beds but this seemed impossible, so far the service. The staff was very friendly, yet typical German friendly in a way it has to be friendly, not because they like their work. The rooms are spacious and very high, they remind me of the large communist hotels in Odessa. The breakfast was very normal hotel style.
