On my recent return to the Am Markt, first trip since COVID, I met a guest who has been coming to the hotel for twenty years. I've been a regular for roughly ten years and have often met guests who have visited again ana again. What keeps us coming back? Everything: charming boutique hotel, immaculate, great value, located five minutes from the spa, shops, and restaurants. Delicious breakfast with homemade jams, not to be missed. But the biggest plus is the family that runs this hotel. They pay attention to every detail and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It's location on small hill might be a challenge for some. But if this isn't an issue for you, this one is a total winner. But don't wait too long to book a room, they often fill up quickly.
On the go since the early 1950's and now under the management of the third generation, this family-run hotel is a safe bet. Spotlessly clean and well-run, it offers a good choice at breakfast and a resident's lounge with an honesty bar. The recent make-over in the dining room has updated the furniture, crockery and cutlery to make breakfast thoroughly enjoyable. The family are all multi-lingual and keen to assist visitors with practical information and a winning smile. A bit of a climb if you are of limited mobility, but the hotel has a lift. Its also nice and close to Friedrichsbad and Caracalla spas. HIghly recommended
Pro -Clean room -Good location, walking distance to the Carcella bath or the center shopping and restaurants. -Small parking spot but there own right in front of the hotel. -You can buy a discount tickets to the bath or things at the reception. Con -Right next to the church, it rings at time till 10 pm so if you’re sleeping early or light sleeper, might have been a problem.
We enjoyed this quaint family run hotel. It had a nice location in easy walking distance to the pedestrian area with lots of shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was very good. It's not close to the train station, we opted to take a taxi both ways. Our room faced the church, and the bells rang every 15 minutes until 22:00. That wasn't great for a nap, but it was charming. Bed was very comfortable.
Right in the center of Baden Baden, yet on a secluded street, with its own parking area, Am Markt left us with a lovely impression from beginning to end. This is not a top luxurious hotel but all the comforts are there, and the real luxury comes from the personalized service. You feel as if you are a guest at a friend’s house, at welcome and goodbye and everything in between. Very close to the Caracalla baths, you can get the tickets at the hotel and an extra free hour. Many items at breakfast are homemade and are sourced at local producers. A real authentic experience
Great hotel: very clean, very friendly staff and great breakfast with lots of homemade food. Great location right in the middle of the old town of Baden-Baden. Would definitely book a stay here again.
We arrived here tired and grumpy and left two days later enjoying the best stay of our vacation. This is a well maintained hotel with modern décor in the rooms. The location is wonderful, if you don't mind the steps up to it. We made good use of the lounge, outside patio, and honor bar. But the real magic here is the family that runs it. We dealt mainly with the two daughters. They spoke perfect English and were very friendly and helpful. If you want to stay with a nice family in Germany, this is the perfect spot.
This was our second visit to Hotel Am Markt in Baden Baden. We actually had the same room and really enjoyed our visit again. The location is perfect within a short walking distance to the Carcalla There and to the downtown shops and restaurants. The staff is really helpful and friendly. Parking was reasonable right next to the hotel and the breakfast was an excellent traditional German breakfast (including soft boiled eggs). Overall, we had an superb visit and would recommend this quaint hotel when in Baden Baden.
The recent US travel ban demonstrated the ability of the government to impose travel bans without notice and the uncertainty of future months for travel. I lost several thousand dollars because only about half my reservations refunded my money. So I wanted to share that Hotel am Markt was one of the good ones, even at a very last minute cancellation. Their service and communication was above and beyond even before. If I ever make it there I look forward to staying here.
This was our favorite stop on our Winter Christmas market trip. The location is wonderful for easy walking access to everything. The family running it is so cordial and accommodating! The room was so comfortable and large. A great value for the money and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a smaller European hotel with the ingredients locally sourced and many homemade. Can’t wait to stay here in the summertime one day soon.
