This was our second visit to Hotel Am Markt in Baden Baden. We actually had the same room and really enjoyed our visit again. The location is perfect within a short walking distance to the Carcalla There and to the downtown shops and restaurants. The staff is really helpful and friendly. Parking was reasonable right next to the hotel and the breakfast was an excellent traditional German breakfast (including soft boiled eggs). Overall, we had an superb visit and would recommend this quaint hotel when in Baden Baden.

We've found in our travels that what makes a hotel really special isn't the size of the rooms, the meals you're offered, or even the location, but it's the people you interact with. The Hotel Am Markt scores 5 stars for the wonderful family who runs it. Every person we were lucky enough to interact with was fun, friendly, helpful and kind (the little kids were darling). And, in this case, all of the other details were 5 star, too. It's a bit of a thrill ride to get up to the hotel (at one point, we were sure we were driving in a "pedestrian only" zone) but, once at the top of the hill, we were able to park (for a fee) right outside the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable (with a bedroom and sitting area). At one point, the room got a bit hot, so we asked about a fan and one was delivered to our room immediately. Our room looked directly onto the church, but the bells stop ringing at 10:00 pm and we never had a problem sleeping. Breakfast was great, with homemade cakes that were baked daily. The only negative we can mention is that the hotel is definitely at the top end of town so you will always be making a rather stiff climb back from shops or restaurants. For us, the hike up the hill was definitely worth it and we would stay at the Am Markt again any time.

The recent US travel ban demonstrated the ability of the government to impose travel bans without notice and the uncertainty of future months for travel. I lost several thousand dollars because only about half my reservations refunded my money. So I wanted to share that Hotel am Markt was one of the good ones, even at a very last minute cancellation. Their service and communication was above and beyond even before. If I ever make it there I look forward to staying here.

This hotel is situated in a great location at the quiet tophill of Baden Baden. The peaceful surroundings make it an ideal spot for relaxation and escaping the hustle and bustle of the town. It takes only a minute walk to both of the thermal baths. And you can get your tickets from the front desk. The hotel is simple but offers clean rooms with lots of windows, which is a fundamental aspect for any stay. The staff at this hotel are kind and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or needs. Their friendly demeanor significantly enhances the overall experience. The breakfast provided is simple and has room for improvement. Adding a couple more hot dishes would elevate the morning meal and provide more variety for guests. This hotel covers all the basic needs for a comfortable stay: clean rooms, helpful staff, and a serene location. With a few enhancements to the breakfast offerings, it could be an even better choice for visitors to Baden Baden.

Right in the center of Baden Baden, yet on a secluded street, with its own parking area, Am Markt left us with a lovely impression from beginning to end. This is not a top luxurious hotel but all the comforts are there, and the real luxury comes from the personalized service. You feel as if you are a guest at a friend’s house, at welcome and goodbye and everything in between. Very close to the Caracalla baths, you can get the tickets at the hotel and an extra free hour. Many items at breakfast are homemade and are sourced at local producers. A real authentic experience

On my recent return to the Am Markt, first trip since COVID, I met a guest who has been coming to the hotel for twenty years. I've been a regular for roughly ten years and have often met guests who have visited again ana again. What keeps us coming back? Everything: charming boutique hotel, immaculate, great value, located five minutes from the spa, shops, and restaurants. Delicious breakfast with homemade jams, not to be missed. But the biggest plus is the family that runs this hotel. They pay attention to every detail and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

It's location on small hill might be a challenge for some. But if this isn't an issue for you, this one is a total winner. But don't wait too long to book a room, they often fill up quickly.

I took my wife to Baden-Baden for her 60th birthday. I selected this hotel since it offered parking, albeit on a first come basis. I was lucky to get the last spot. It also inured breakfast. The hotel staff was very helpful in making recommendations for dinner and for things to do. I also appreciated that they had coffee available in the morning and an honor bar at night for wine and beer. The room was cozy and the bed was comfortable. The shower was warm, which is the most important thing. We really enjoyed being at the top of the hill. There are far more glamorous places to stay, but you will not be let down here as this hotel is right next door to both mineral thermes.

We enjoyed this quaint family run hotel. It had a nice location in easy walking distance to the pedestrian area with lots of shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was very good. It's not close to the train station, we opted to take a taxi both ways. Our room faced the church, and the bells rang every 15 minutes until 22:00. That wasn't great for a nap, but it was charming. Bed was very comfortable.

Cosy hotel located in the old town (opposite church), rooms with sloping roofs and equipped with comfortable bed and small armchairs (unfortunately without desk). Bathroom with shower. Lift starts in 1. Stock. Good breakfast selection. Friendly service. Good starting point to explore the city center (Attention: is located on a small hill; e.g. by long stairs to the city center shopping zone).

The staff were very helpful, friendly and always available if needed. The hotel itself was spotless and the decor was lovely. The room was very cozy and looked out over the town. Breakfast was outstanding. The location was perfect and right in the middle of old town, close to and in walking distance of the baths, casino and the best restaurants. The bus takes you directly from the train station to the old town square and a quick walk to the hotel - though fair warning - there are stairs that you will have to take up to the hotel. Excellent visit and the perfect place to stay!

I don’t know. We took a few steps to 2nd floor. I don’t think there are any rooms on first floor. Try and email them - they replied to me very quickly on a question I had.
