As first time visitors from the US to Baden Baden, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The building is beautiful and charming, a plus for my daughter and myself since we both adore older architecture. Our room was lovely, beautiful balcony. We didn't realize there was no air conditioning, I didn't check prior to booking so that was on me. The evenings were cool so we enjoyed leaving the balcony door open. The breakfast buffet was generous and presented in a lovely manner. We were provided with a basket to go to the spa which contained towels and robes, such a nice and pleasant surprise for us. The location is absolutely perfect, walking distance to everything and a short bus ride to Merkur, which we so enjoyed. We took a cab to and from the train station( we took the train from Frankfurt) because of large luggage but it's very doable to go by bus. The staff is friendly and helpful but one staff member in particular, Victor, was absolutely stellar. He went over and beyond helping us by calling DB for us ( we had a question about our train ticket), answering all our inquiries so kindly and securing hard to get dinner reservations for us on a Saturday night. Victor is a true example of what the hospitality industry is all about, he helped make our stay so pleasant. We had such a wonderful time in Baden Baden. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat! …
The hotel looked after me very well, recommending and booking a restaurant for dinner (the hotel does not have one). My room was comfortable but lacked air conditioning, so if that is important please ask. Driving to the hotel can be a nightmare because of pedestrian zones, but the hotel provides an access route. Spaces in the garage are limited, so you might end up in a public car park - street parking in the centre is difficult. The breakfast was generous and served in a lovely light room on the first floor. The hotel is very well situated for all sights of Baden-Baden - everything is very walkable.
Stayed here for a two day conference. It's in a great position right in the centre of town and therefore close to most things. Doesn't actually feel like a four star hotel but rooms are comfortable (except for the usual frustrating duvets which are always too small for the bed- must be a German thing!). Food was very good through the two days but hotel misses a bar. Can't comment on the rest of the facilities- didn't get a chance to use any.
This is a lovely old style grand hotel with high ceilings and beautiful staircase central to the hotel taking you up the 5 floors. There is a lift for the less energetic! Our room was huge with a sofa and chairs, a hall area to put the clothes and luggage, an en-suite bath, shower etc, TV, and 2 large windows that opened out over the street below. Initially we had concern about the noise potential particularly as it was still very warm, but it didn’t bother us. If you’re looking for a little bit of gentile charm you’ve come to the right place here.
Nice hotel on top location in city centre. Parking possible close to hotel. Rooms are good and spacious with nice bathroom. Friendly staff. Breakfast has optional garden seating and is of good quality.
If you want a 4 star then don’t come here. 4 stars usual brings facilities There is no bar or place to quietly sit in an evening. We had to go out and sit at street cafes There are garden seats but uncomfortable as they take away the Cushions on an evening No room facilities eg mini bar or even a kettle or drinks We like a cup of tea before bed but because there is no bar you can’t get a hot drink (there is a coffee machine in reception !!). This is not tea Room towels are hand towels at best not bath towels and are past there best - typical of a 3 star not 4 star hotel At breakfast you can’t help yourself so you get a plate of Mixed cheese and ham - not what you want, what they want to give you All in all I would describe this hotel as A basic (if clean and tidy) glorified B&B with the owners cutting costs in every area and providing a bed not a hotel. If you want to stay on business it’s adequate but not for a couple on holiday to enjoy the place…
This is a very nice hotel in a good location - in walking distance from the main attractions - with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast good. I can thoroughly recommend the hotel.
Very nice hotel! Big room with modern bathroom. Awesome location within walking distance to all the town sights. Bus stop is in front of hotel. Staff was friendly and bilingual. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and food was very good. Highly recommend!
This is the oldest grand hotel in town. It is just located in the main expensive shopping area. There is a longish park with benches and old streetlamps just in front of it. If you have a dog, it is very handy to take it for a walk there. It is also rather romantic. The location of the hotel cannot be better. The main attractions, like the casino, famous spas, museums, park are just 5 minutes walk and there are lots of nice restaurants, shops nearby. Nice place to go shopping. The room is big and very clean. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They speak good English. The breakfast is very good. The bed is big and comfortable. There is also a underground carpark. Baden Baden is small but a beautiful town with nice museums. Will go back again.
Location can't be beat; the common areas and garden are amazing; the staff is friendly and helpful (and speak many languages to help guests). Overall, this was one of our cheapest hotels in Germany, but easily our favorite.
