Beautiful hotel where we stayed for three days, lovely staff who were all really friendly, our room was clean and tidy and the food was excellent. We would certainly go back again. Lots to see in the surrounding area and the Funicular Railway was great as at the top the view was fantastic.
I have to change travel details at the last minute. So booking the hotel was a last minute thing. Glad I did though, Lovely surrounding the hotel itself, was there on a Saturday and a weeding reception was be held in the evening. So, I was expecting a sleepless night. This did not happen, so happy days. The only down side was not being able to get connected to internet which I had to guess the next leg of my journey.
Beautiful located in the Black Forest in stunning surroundings. Short distance to Baden Baden, the famous B 500 (for motor bikers), lots of sights and nice hiking / cycling destinations. Hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The in-house restaurant and the outside beer garden offer plenty of choices to eat and drink. Great local specialties on the menu as well. All in all a very nice place and I can only recommend it.
A bit away from the BB center on a smaller country road which gave a more fresh air and peace ful ambiance . Friendly and clean with very comfortable beds . Extra points for the very dog friendly policy. Arrived a bit late so the inhouse restaurant was very convenient . Was lucky to sit outside in the Biergarten under the lovley chest nut trees. Fantastic ambiance and a great veal wienersnitzel ..."to die for " A nice tasty breakfast was included in the price
Bunch of old bikers looking to burn some rubber on the infamous, naughty B500 Black Forrest Road. Dinner was fantastic as was the German Breakfast ! Very helpful staff who looked after our panniers whilst we were out riding. Rooms were clean and tidy and not much noise from the main road. Would highly recommend !
We stayed for one night on a trip through the area and found this establishment to be a very charming and cozy home base to explore the area. The room was comfortable and spacious, the bed was super-comfortable, and everything was clean and tidy!. The overnight guest can enjoy a German-style breakfast for an additional 9 Euros. Staff is helpful and friendly. Please note that this hotel is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
The evening meal was outstanding, good sized portions and wonderfully fresh. A good selection of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Outstanding service in a traditional and very cozy comfortable restaurant steeped in atmosphere. Excellent!
I have been coming to this area, where I worked whilst at uni, since the late 1970s. Every time I wasn’t able to stay with friends in the area, I have come to the Gasthaus Auerhahn. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the welcome is warm. The local specialities, both food and drink, are *excellent* and better both absolutely and for value, than you will find in Baden-Baden itself. The location is perfect for both Baden-Baden and for further explorations of the Black Forest; it is right on the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse (Black Forest High Road). I almost hate to tell anyone about it, for fear that it will be even harder to get a room on my next visit!
Travelling by motorbike, I was pre-booked into the Auerhahn. Good size room, comfy bed, very nice meal, and lovely lady in kitchen found me an early morning cup of tea. Well suited for bikers, but fine for other. Small niggles - pillows a bit soft, and towels small. Great location on the B500! Best advice - ask for room at the back - away from road, but not a major problem.
Stayed for a few nights while on a motorcycle trip. Received a warm welcome and were given secure parking in the owners garage. Traditional hotel, very clean and had a large, comfortable room. Good selection for breakfast and the food in the restaurant in the evening was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful; in particular the lady who served in the restaurant at night. Busy hotel, good location for the B500 and close to the bus if you want to go into Baden-Baden. Really enjoyed our stay
