We stayed at this newly renovated hotel for one night on our way to Bavaria. The rooms are clean and airy, the staff very friendly and helpful. Dinner on the terrace was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this little gem in a village just outside Baden Baden.

We stayed here for one night, since we were going to Friedrichsbad. Due to various reasons, we booked late and this was the cheapest one available. We had to pay 85 Euros for one night. Although Friedrichsbad helped us recover from this, the price is still too damn high. The room was very nice, though. The neighbourhood the hotel is in is rather quiet, so sleep was excellent. Standard German breakfast (good, in terms of quality) -- bread, cheese/butter, jams/other spreads, cold meats, fruits, coffee/tea. We also had dinner (pasta) at this hotel. Really good. The staff were polite (the ladies in the restaurant were really friendly, though. Defying the stereotype of the stern Teuton). If you don't have a car (and a navigation device), this hotel (indeed, the town itself) might be hard to get to. I wouldn't stay here for more than a night or two, but it's not bad for a stay of that duration.

We stayed here while we visited the spa in Baden Baden. The main reason my wife and I chose this place was the pool. Our 2 year old loves to swim but he isn't old enough to swim at the spa. The room and breakfast were pretty standard for Germany. The pool was good sized but a little cold. We only used the restaurant for drinks and dessert after our son went to sleep. B oth were very good.

We found the staff at the Blume to be very courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean, bright and spacious. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Baden Baden. My German is utilitarian at best but at least an effort was made which seemingly fell on deaf ears. The locals were challenged by the simplest of requests to the point of being of ignorant. The staff at Friedrichsbad were as sad and tired as the establishment itself. From the curt and ignorant woman at the front desk to the druid masking himself as a masseur..what a tired and tediously boring crew!! On the whole our German experience was at best forgetable. Beautiful vistas and panoramas inhabited by the coldest and unhelpful facsimiles of humans we have ever encountered. Travellers do not owe Germany a thing and perhaps tourism is not an enterprise suited to an aryan nation..

This was one of those mistakes that the GPS directed us to. It was late. We drove off the autoban and couldn't find anywhere else to go. The hotel was redecorated in the 80's and is just worn out. The smell of the room was just gross, mildewy, smokey, The down pillows were so worn out that they would pancake when you put your head down. The sheets were clean but the blanket in the duvet was unspeakable. I went to use the phone in one of the downstairs hallways and walked right through a huge cobweb across a doorway. Ugh. Breakfast was provided and was next door in the restaurant. Really, it's only redeeming quality was how good that was. Otherwise, sleep in the car. Because of sheer exhaustion (and driving around the neighborhood for an hour) we went to the restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was authentic and a great value for the price. I had a fish dish that was wonderful. The staff there could not have been more helpful and pleasant. Lovely folks wanting us to be happy with our dinner, they gave us great service, spooning out the potatoes onto our plates and asking us what we needed frequently. If we lived here, we would come by often... It's too bad I have to review the hotel and restaurant together. They are very different entities.

My wife and I were going to the baths in Baden-Baden and arrived late in the evening. The prices in Baden-Baden were more than we wanted to pay. Fortunately we had a GPS and it guided us to several hotels. Hotel Blume wasn't far away. The front desk staff was very friendly. The hotel is located in the suburb of Sandweier. We didn't seem much of the suburb because we arrived late and left just after breakfast for Baden-Baden. The room was comfortable. The bed was very good. The Internet was easy to connect to. The heating worked very well (it was December and very cold outside). The bathroom was also good and very clean -- great water pressure. We decided to try the restaurant that evening. It was a great choice. I had the Hirschgulasch (deer stew) with Spaetzle and Feldsalat (mache). It was wonderful and exactly what I wanted. Breakfast in the morning was also good. It was the standard German hotel breakfast: some cold cuts, spreads, jams, and good coffee. We didn't use it, but there was a small pool and sauna in the basement that looked nice.
