My husband and I would have to agree with the reviewers who have praised this hotel for its location, welcoming staff, hearty breakfast and service with a smile. We've just returned from Val d'Isere, a couple of days skiing in brilliant sunshine; the hotel is near the slopes, the ski hire shop is opposite, Skimum, excellent equipment, the centre of... More

Took a twin room for a week from 7-13 April 2016. When we arrived Danny (Dani?) was there waiting with a warm welcome. The staff were super friendly throughout, the room was warm, clean and quiet. No issues with noise, beds were comfortable and spare pillows in the wardrobe, which is a bonus if you like more than one. The... More

Don't be discouraged by the official 2* rating: this is a very good place to stay in Val d'Isere. The location in the heart of Val is perfect: the central ski lifts are a short stroll away, as are the free shuttle buses to outlying lifts such as La Daille and Fornet; there are dozens of places to eat in... This is a good value hotel in the middle of the village with easy access to the main slopes. Breakfast is served everyday at 8am and is great if a little limited. Staff very friendly and attentive. However the whole hotel is somewhat blighted by being so noisy. The walls are paper thin and as its constructed in a traditional... More

Stayed here while visiting our son. Le Kern is a lovely little French hotel. Everything you need in an excellent central location. Spotlessly clean, lovely buffet breakfast and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome

January 16 stayed with my wife for a return visit. We have been 5 times now so that shows how much we enjoy this little hotel in a great central location, near the slopes. The staff were kind and helpful as always, great continental breakfast and nice clean rooms.

I visited Val D'sere to see my son who is working there. I caught the Alti Bus from Geneva and arrived late afternoon. This hotel is one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. It is situated in the heart of Val D'Isere 100m from the Alti Bus stop. It is 200m from all the main slopes (and... More

Small and rustic but clean, comfortable and great location. Private bath with tub and shower. Excellent wifi. Ski room in basement was good. Ski shop next door. Staff were so friendly and keen to help or advise whenever.

A friendly little B&B close to the slopes and the centre of town. Everything was clean and efficiently run. I'd definitely recommend Le Kern as an alternative to the bigger hotels and chalets especially if you are looking for less than a week.

I am glad I found this hotel as it has a very homely feel to it and the price was good value for the facilities offered. It is in a good location and easily accessible to everything - whether it's the slopes, eating places or bars. The rooms are on the smaller side, however we had a great wardrobe that... More
