This was about my 10th year at Hotel Val, and in that time I have watched the "flagship" of Mark Warner gradually become a faded, scruffy, unhealthy and shoddy chalet-hotel of very average standard but still at 4* prices. THE GOOD: - Location is superb and central for lifts, shops and night life - Views are really good from the...

If you want a decent chalet close to town and the slopes, but don't mind being served by hungover A-level students then this is the chalet for you! The dinner menu is exceptional and well exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff however lacked professionalism and finesse at times which spoilt the atmosphere. The rooms were well appointed but quite tired....

We have been loyal customers of Mark Warner for winter skiing in the French Alps. This year was our 4th year with them, second at the Hotel Le Val. While the hotel itself is very tired, the staff inexperienced, they had been very well-meaning, (mostly) customer friendly, and most importantly, they had offered fantastic childcare. However, and this is a...

I attempted my fist weeks skiing in Val and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Not only was the skiing itself good, but my stay in Hotel Val made the holiday for me. The food, from breakfast to dinner was great (see my pic of afternoon tea), a lot of variety every day and this was accompanied by prompt and...

Having worked for a ski company before I know all of the pit falls, and also the things that the staff can do to make a ski holiday great. This has been one of many trips to Val d'Isere and was by far the best! The staff in the hotel were great; friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They were all...

Lets be clear - if nothing had gone wrong with our room I wouldn't be writing this review because the hotel in general is fine. The food is average to good and the child care is good. The huge problem we've had with this hotel is Mark Warner; they employ kids as hotel managers who seem to have no experience...

HOTEL Its centrally located and convenient but this is now a very tiered hotel. The reception area and bar is in dire need of renovation. ROOMS Get a room at the front. The back rooms are small with a view of a roof. Front ones are great with a view of town centre. No issue with noise levels. Rooms are...

Awful dirty mouldy rooms. Staff who don't care. The only benefit is that they are a central Hotel. One example - breakfast not enough cups for tea or coffee! Mark Chitty - it's time you realised your 1990s formula no longer cuts it in 2014

We stayed at this hotel as a party of 13 people including 2 babies, 1 toddler and two 3 year olds. We had a mini suite which was two rooms and a bathroom which gave our family of four plenty of space. The bathroom was nice but the bedrooms are quite tired and the decor in need of a freshen...

Having stayed at here, about 3 years ago, and decided to book again this year. Luckily, this was before I'd read the reviews from last year! I'm pleased to say, we experienced a thoroughly enjoyable week. I was pleasantly surprised with our room, which had a cosy colour scheme, fresh white sheets and fluffy towels(changed mid-week) and a good view...
