This hotel has a 30's themed lobby with familiar photos and posters. The breakfast buffet was adequate. Internet wifi service was prompt and reliable. Front desk staff are extremely helpful, friendly and cheerful. The room was comfortable, although not spacious. No view to speak of.

Good hotel for price and the food in the evening was superb with a couple of carafes of wine at a very cheap price. Would definitely stay again when I am in the area. The village is very nice and had a nice circular run in the countryside. Had a small problem with the toilet flushing but the owner sorted...

It is a bit out of the centre of town, but within walking distance. We had a warm welcome, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, decorated in the French style. Bathroom was spotless and efficient. Breakfast was fine - there is no lunch or dinner service, but you can order something to eat...

This hotel staff show great attention to looking after their guests and we greatly appreciated this. Everything is SUPER clean, the rooms have quirky themes and have very comfortable beds. Our room was warm and cozy for cold weather and the window opened for when we wanted it cooler. We stayed only one night and the room faced the road...

Thoroughly enjoyed 4 nights of business travel here. The owner and his wife jumped through hoops to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are great and plenty of great local restaurants nearby. Good quality beds and pillows. Decent free WiFi connection. Underground parking provided at the hotel, but you can also park on Boulevard Pasteur (if you can...

Heading south from Belgium, we spent a night in Saint-Étienne, partly to break the journey but mainly for the pleasure of staying at the Hôtel du Midi again. A warm and friendly welcome awaited us and it was good to renew our acquaintance with the charming, kind and helpful team. The hotel offers well-equipped, modern accommodation that is comfortable, clean...

This is the second time we have stayed in this charming little hotel, and we were not disappointed. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the hotel is so comfortable. We stayed just one night on our way to the South of France and will definitely be returning next year. A truly wonderful find.

My wife and I spent a very comfortable night at this small but charming hotel in St Etienne. The receptionist was charming and could not be more helpful or friendly and our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed our brief stay in St Etienne even if Saracens lost to Clermont!

We stayed for one night , which was the only negative thing about the stay. Would have loved to have stayed for more than one night. Beautiful rooms, very clean and bright. Breakfast was a highlight, a lovely inviting room. Staff so friendly and obliging. Thank you again for a really pleasant experience. Jill

It is often difficult to establish a relationship with hotel staff. However at the Hotel du Midi in St Etienne, France that happened. My wife and I arrived at the hotel late in the afternoon after searching for a hotel in the small towns along our route. We had no reservation and did not expect to stay in a larger...
