If you are looking for a romantic "old fashion" hotel this one is for you. A true 5 stars with great service, views that you can only dream, a wonderful swimming pool and delicious breakfast. A realm of calm in a busy and alive city.

The hotel has great reviews and it has a lovely view however, for the price I was surprised at how cheap the furniture throughout looks. I booked a deluxe suite which had an amazing view of the city but the bathroom had a tub with a shower nozzle but was not enclosed so unless you sit down and hold it...

Conversion of historic convent to hotel preserved original soaring arches and other architectural details with traditional decor and furnishings. Building is sited high up on a hill with a beautiful garden and pool overlooking the city in a dramatic setting. Access to old city restaurants, shops is via a long long set of stairs. Service was excellent with a warm...

For the French, Lyon is tops for gourmet choices. It is said that this is how Paris was 30 years ago. Further, this is the best hotel in Lyon! It is in a former convent, the chapel is now the reception area. Top notch location and views! Wonderful! It is updated and has modern bathrooms and amenities. The views from...

We traveled as a family of 10 occupying 4 rooms in the hotel and spent 4 nights at the hotel. We were rather skeptical about the location of the hotel having read several reviews about it being high on top of the hill and the only way to get there from the old town on foot is through several flights...

From the moment my wife and I walked into the Villa Florentine, we felt surrounded by friendship and attention to detail. We were received by Ms. Anne C. , the Associate Director of Front Desk , who offered us a drink as soon as the check-in formalities were done. She then went to show us our room and expounded on...

The hotel has a good position overlooking the city centre, but is up lots of steps from the quayside with no metro stations anywhere near. It has private parking (not cheap). Our room had large with its own balcony; good bathroom. But the practical details were very poorly thought out. There were almost no power points, certainly none near the...

I love this hotel, it's full of character and just stunning. Very traditional and has great rooms, fantastic breakfast. Views across Lyon are beautiful, staff are so good. Helpful, polite and nothing is too much trouble. This is my most favourite hotel in France, hard to fault and always somewhere I can't wait to go back

The Villa is a beautifully-restored former convent. The nuns never lived like this! It is multi-level, certainly ancient in its interesting layout, and a beautiful place. The staff is amazing - we overtipped the concierge and the front desk staff when we left, they had been so consistently helpful and pleasant. The room was nice, the bed was great, but......
