For a weekend in Lyon this summer, I needed a room near Croix-Rousse and the friend I was visiting suggested I go to Pilo; she gave me good advice.

We had dinner at the Pilo Hotel and we didn't understand... €19 for 4 pieces of fried chicken (even though they say it's for 4 and there were 3 of us)! A big joke. It was my first time solo travelling as a woman, and I felt very safe in this hotel and its areas. I was in the blue 4 bed female dorm, which was very calming. I don't think I would have felt as relaxed in the yellow rooms though. The hotel is aesthetic and rooms have AC. The walls are not very soundproof, but the bed is very comfortable so it evens out. The location is a bit far from the metro which can be sometimes frustrating, but it was overall a great stay!
