The warmest welcome I have found in a long time! Everything is well designed, functional and clean, the rate more than attractive - I was dazzled by the spacious side of the place, in the rooms, the restaurant, the large inner courtyard, it makes you want to take your time and not just spend the night there. And fresh produce at breakfast, and a location in the center, etc. as advantages

For a weekend in Lyon this summer, I needed a room near Croix-Rousse and the friend I was visiting suggested I go to Pilo; she gave me good advice.
The single room (2 single beds) was spacious, clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. I also enjoyed dinner and breakfast.
If I come back to Lyon, I think I will stay at Pilo again.

Cleanliness
Easy cohabitation
Small light at the bottom of the beds to help you find your way at night
Place on the side of the bed to put all your little belongings
Sufficient volume in the bed
Privacy preserved
Sufficient catches
Sounds of voices tolerable from corridors and other rooms, up to a reasonable time
Well-stocked breakfast buffet, with original offerings
Terrace in the courtyard
Less
No switch at the entrance to the bed, which is very dark
DIY bed
Very audible footsteps all night long
Noises from the bed structure as soon as you move
Street noises on some floors
Just comfortable mattress
Heat that rises very quickly in the bed box, not ventilated
No hook next to the shower to put the towel on, so you can dry off before going out and not soak the collective bath mat
Few dishes that tempt you in the evening (no salads, no soups). It’s more dishes to share around a drink

We had dinner at the Pilo Hotel and we didn't understand... €19 for 4 pieces of fried chicken (even though they say it's for 4 and there were 3 of us)! A big joke. It was clearly a one-person bowl and we even asked if there was a problem. The fries are also good. The onion rings look like they came straight out of the freezer... in short, major disappointment.

Great discovery, I recommend without hesitation. We stayed in a double room, basic but very comfortable (without TV, with wifi and view of the Notre-Dame de Fourvière Basilica). The pros: cleanliness & quality of bedding, location (in the picturesque Croix-Rousse district), value for money (including the well-stocked breakfast). The +++: the excellent customer service & proactivity (we were asked our wishes well before our arrival, all of which were granted) and the vibe. Open since Jan. 2023, this multifaceted place already has a soul of its own, thanks to the young and dynamic community which invests it.
The -: honestly, none

Stellar staff made this stay fabulous - with modern facilities and clean rooms. The themed restaurant evenings are an unexpected surprise. A steep hill to get there. I suggest anyone wanting to book get familiar with Bus S6 as it will save you walking up the steep slope.

It was my first time solo travelling as a woman, and I felt very safe in this hotel and its areas. I was in the blue 4 bed female dorm, which was very calming. I don't think I would have felt as relaxed in the yellow rooms though. The hotel is aesthetic and rooms have AC. The walls are not very soundproof, but the bed is very comfortable so it evens out. The location is a bit far from the metro which can be sometimes frustrating, but it was overall a great stay!
