This is my second stay at Le Royal Lyon. We stayed in a JR Suite on the 5th floor. The room was comfortable. I did not like the bathrooms. The suite had two bathrooms. Both were in need of renewal. The bottom of the bathroom doors were rotted perhaps from water damage. There were spots on the vanity that were...

We stayed 3 nights in this charming old fashioned hotel in a lovely city. Our room on the 5th floor a bit shabby chic and maybe needing a bit of decorating, wasn't large but very quiet, clean and comfortable. A balcony to walk onto to view the Square below. We found the staff helpful and polite, didn't manage to have...

The Hotel Royale is affiliated with the Institut Paul Bocuse (one of the top culinary and hospitality training schools) and students train there. But do not expect a modest performance; the service, the rooms, the food are all very good. The hotel is well decorated, although some of the areas show some wear. The breakfast food is a large buffet...

This is our second visit. Our first in May when we were upgraded to a junior suite. The rooms are very adequate but the suites have more living space and a bigger toilet with a separate shower. The reception is very efficient and was helpful in booking restaurants and arranging for taxis.

Beautifully decorated hotel with a blue and white silk theme, and characterful ceramics throughout. We had a fairytale bed - giant, fluffy, with crisp white bedding. It's true that the bedrooms feel cozy, welcoming and decadent - without being over the top. We had high quality breakfasts with delicious pastries, homemade yoghurts, fruit - and an egg chef on hand...

Fantastic location, incredibly friendly & helpful staff. We were there for our 30th anniversary and were kindly upgraded to a lovely large room. Lyon is evidently France's 2nd-largest city, but it felt more like "Paris/New York light" to me, which was just fantastic. Drive in this city only if you are very brave. Lyon is also a major "Foodie destination",...

We traveled to Lyon over Thanksgiving 2015 and had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Le Royal. For the time of year it was a great location to get to the more busy, shopping part of town, or to walk to the more historic part. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. Our room was...

I love the Place Bellecourt where this beautiful hotel is situated. The breakfast buffet is the moste exquisite, eggs for instance served already opened and seasoned. The rooms are small but very beautifully furnished. Beautiful porcelain collection in the lobby area!
