Spent four nights in the Hotel Vaubecour. The location is very central giving you easy access to everything Lyon has to offer, most of it within walking distance. The owners go out of their way to ensure that your stay is perfect. Advice on where to go, what to see and do and where to eat all tailored to your... More

We stayed four nights here and were very happy with the service provided. The owners are eager to please and the cost very reasonable. We were in Room 4 and thought that a good size. The hotel website shows precise room sizes so you can check what will suit. The room was very clean. There is a lovely breakfast room... More

We enjoyed staying here very much during our four day/three night visit to Lyon. While our room was small, it was quite comfortable and nicely decorated (simple and tasteful). The hotel is well located in this lovely and walkable city. Our hosts were charming, responsive, interesting and delightful to talk with. They were always available to answer questions and provide... We had a wonderful 4 days at Hotel Vaubecour on our first visit to Lyon. The hotel is a just a short walk away from the city centre and close to all transport. Our room was typically French small but had good facilities and great street views. We had breakfast each morning in the dining room and this was a... More

Based on TA reviews, my wife and I chose this hotel for a two day stay in Lyon. We were not disappointed. The room we had was small (I assume like most French hotel rooms), but clean and had an updated bathroom. The hotel is about a 16 Euro taxi fare from Gare Part Deux (the TGV train station). The... We arrived after dark, and the first floor entry way was completely dark. We tried to figure out how to call up to the hotel from the key pad, and eventually got it right, but then we had to lug our bags up to the second (or third) floor because the lift was much too small. The people were wonderful,... More

Dear Sara, We are sorry that your experience did not match your expectations. The lift can actually accommodate two large suitcase or 3 people. But it helps to alleviate the exercise of hauling luggage. In the rooms, we did not want to overload decoration for upholstery, moldings, fireplace and its mirror, large windows, feroneries, the headboard and curtains seem enough.... More

We loved our stay for three days at Hotel Vaubecour! Xavier at the front desk was a great host - giving us tips on a map for where the best, non-tourist restaurants are, what is within walking distance, etc. He even looked up train times and stop locations for our visit to Perouges, a small town about 40 minutes outside... We stayed in room #9. We had doors leading out to a small balcony and another set of double windows. It was great leaving the windows open for the fresh air, but the street noise could be loud at night. The room size was good. We had twin beds, which was fine. They offered to push them together for us,... More

Lovely family run hotel. Great location for seeing main sites, and pretty quiet too. Charming hosts who kindly advised us on where to go and not go and good local restaurants. Stylish decor, comfortable bed. Room could have been bigger but not a problem. Would love to come back. The owners told us they were reworking some rooms into suites... More
