La Palmeraie is a lovely B&B located out of the centre of Marseille. It is super close to some sandy beaches on the Mediteranean and the cute shops and stores along the waterfront. The B&B itself is a beautiful oasis with a pool included. My mom and I were upgraded to the studio room which was lovely and has 2.5...

I can't recommend this charming place too highly. It is located a couple of streets back from La Plage, the stretch of "beach" of the Marseilles harbourside a couple of kilometres from Vieux Ports, the tourist harbourside centre. The location of this guesthouse is good as the street parking here is good and it's a very accessible and convenient spot...

This, by far, was the most wonderful B&B experience. We travel a bit and have had our share of uncomfortable accomodations, not at this place! We drove down from Germany and when we hit really bad traffic we called Suzy and told her we would be late, not a problem. Breakfast was fantastic and we will go back as soon...

We were in Marseille for a convention my husband was attending at the Parc Chanot. We usually try to find a charming B&B or small boutique hotel when we travel, but need to make sure it is cost-efficient and convenient for his business needs, and for my exploring while he is working. We found La Palmeraie to suit our requirements...

My husband and I were looking forward to our stay at Suzy's lovely place in August. We were scheduled to take the train to Marseille from Paris when we got word of a family emergency at home in Canada. We had no chance to give Suzy advance notice, but simply emailed her about our situation. She was kind and understanding,...

Suzy was very welcoming when we arrived. She did make us go straight away to the bank machine to pay her on arrival. A first in our 3 week trip in France. We stayed in the Amethyste room, which is not very comfortable for 2 people. The location is a bit of a walk from the beach and not in...

Very nice and welcoming place to stay, walking distance to the beaches - but quite distant from city center if that is your destination. If you have a car or bikes, then location is not an issue.

Stayed 4 nights @ La Palmaraie. Room was excellent. Very clean and spacious. Ms Khalifa is a great host who tries to do the maximum for her guests. Positive= Amazing breakfast + La Palmeraie is located near the beach & great bars en restaurants. Negative= Pool is only 'open' 4 hours/dag (10x12 & 15x17) and at those moments, you're normally...

Stepping into La Palmeraie was like stepping into a little oasis, tucked away from the rest of the world. We were greeted by Suzy who was so warm and welcoming and we felt at home straight away. We kicked off our shoes and cooled off by the gorgeous pool. Our room "Amethyste" was superb. It was very roomy, so clean...

Set in a quiet neighborhood a walking distance away from the beach front at La Pointe Rouge, La Palmeraie is a small and peaceful oasis, offering great comfort and luxury. The landlady Mrs. Khalifa is a very friendly and helpful host, who looks after every minute detail to make your stay a memorable one. The rooms are decorated with taste...

“The Suite is lovely Studio- rustic and small”
of 5 bubbles williawebb, 31 May 2015 | Read review
“The double room is for 1-2 people, outside there's a lounge setting amongst leaves. The studio is split level with a double bed downstairs and a single bed in the attic; it also has a kitchenettte area (though I'm not sure the rulews about cooking). It's where one of her sons used to live when he was at home. The suite is pretty big with a separate bedroom and living room, where you can put fold-out beds, so it's a family/friends thing. It is right next to the pool so in summer you could essentially make it an indoor/outdoor thing, although I suppose that's true of all the rooms. They are all charming in their own way. We got the guided tour at the end.”

“My husband is 6'7" and we were in the studio. He had to watch his head in the shower and going up the stairs, but he is used to being too big for places.”

“When you check in, you will receive one key for your room and one key for the outside gate. Ask if you need an additional key, and Suzy may be able to give you at least one to the gate so you are not waiting on the street for your spouse to return with the key!”
