Le Mediterranée was a very cozy hotel, with friendly staff and a great location to access the local beaches of Hyères. With only 14 rooms in the entire hotel, staying here felt personal as were almost always greeted by someone at the reception. Due to COVID, the breakfast buffet was not open; instead we were served breakfast at the table at a pre-set time (croissant and baguette with cheese, ham, and jams). The hotel is an easy walk to the busy port and strip of restaurants. Accessing Port / Tour Fondue is about a 10 minute drive or 20 minutes by bus. There is a bus stop about 100 meters from the hotel. Car parking is free as you can use the free public parking lots in the vicinity. Our only criticism is that the carpeting looked very old, and we often felt that despite the maid passing every day, the room was never swept nor the sheets changed (sand from the beach was never cleaned from the floor or the bed). Overall, the hotel could use a slight face lift and closer attention to cleaning. In high season, we were still very grateful to have stayed here. There are many beaches close by (some driving distance to, others reachable by foot) and plenty of family activities to do in the region of Hyères.…
I returned with pleasure while being sure of myself. The quality of the welcome, the rooms and the calm of the establishment are definitely a PLUS. To renew as soon as I come back to Hyères and especially to recommend. Hotel is well located near the harbor and restaurants, and in front of the racecourse (quiet).
We booked a studio for 2 people and found that it meets all of our need. The only thing that was missing was the ocean view :) compare to other places we've stayed in south of France, this studio is very very spacious and kitchen is well equipped. We cooked all of our dinner here. There's free parking & laundry machine in the apt. Queen Matress is very comfortable, the pillow could be improved. Close to Porcquerolles, at Tropez and all the supermarket for food. Overall loved the stay.
At first view, Hotel le Mediterranée looks like a pretty ordinary two star hotel, but appearances can be deceptive and this hotel really punches above its weight. Right away, at check in, you get an impression of sheer professionalism, and a look at the decor, the design and the sparkling cleanliness of the place simply confirms this. Our room was also very smart and comfortable and had good quality bedding, toiletries etc. Breakfast was very good and, in addition to the expected cereals, yoghurts, juices etc., had fresh fruits, decent cheese and nice ham to go with the excellent breads and pastries. We also had hard-boiled eggs and, at 10 Euros a head, we thought that this very enjoyable breakfast was excellent value. Now the practicalities: Hotel le Mediterranée is ideally situated in Hyeres Plage by the marina. There is no hotel parking as such, but ample free parking in at least two parking lots within 100 metres of the hotel, plus free on-street parking. And for those with high cars (like me!) the entry barriers at the car parks are a sensible 2 metres high. The old town of Hyeres isn’t within walking distance but is a short drive away. There is also a bus stop opposite, or taxis can be arranged. There is an excellent sandy beach just across the road from the hotel and there are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars in the area. And for those who want to visit the island of Porquerolles, you need to make the short drive to La Tour Fondue at the end of the Giens Peninsula to catch the ferry. Tickets are 20 Euro return or 16 Euro for concessions. Car parking is extra but pretty reasonable, and I would certainly recommend this trip. And for those without a car, the bus also goes to La Tour Fondue. And I think that just about covers it! So let’s finish with the bottom line: this is a really good hotel, run by charming people, in a very good and convenient location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it. …
