I certainly don’t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately this is one of those times. Franck and Collette were certainly nice people, but we were very disappointed - some things were in their control and some were out of their control. I disputed the charge, and had we not paid for the room, I would not have written this review. But being my dispute was denied - and I see Franck lied - either to us at site or to the credit card company - I unfortunately had to go the poor review route. My wife and I actually left after being there for roughly 90 minutes and stayed at another hotel. Our first tip off should have been the “check in time from 17:00” and nobody was there to check us in. Franck did arrive in a short while and showed us the room and property. The Olivier suite is a room almost in a shed or garage setting. It actually has an aluminum/metal garage type door like you would see in a storage unit. It’s not very inviting, and actually kind of felt like we were almost trapped in the room. The ad cited full bath amenities in the unit, but all we saw was about a 2/3 full travel size bottle of shampoo or body wash- we couldn’t really tell. We sat on the bed, and it was certainly a bit worn and had a “rut”z And then the WiFi went down. Not the end of the world by any means, but instead of saying “let me look into it and see if I can get an answer”, Franck’s response was basically “I don’t know when it will be back on”. And that was after explaining to him that I needed to be online to attend to something back at home. And with that, my wife decided to go stay at the Ibis down the road even closer to the airport. It was just one small thing on top of another, but the weird vibe of the room and the dismissive attitude towards the WiFi and the issues it was causing us drove us to leave. Because there is no drop box and you needed a gate key to leave, we decided to go and return the key the next morning, making additional time prior to our flight. When I returned in the AM Franck seemed confused/taken aback when I told him we didn’t stay here, we told you we needed to be online for something at home. And he said “oh the WiFi is still out.” So I was definitely happy we made the decision we did. And here’s where I have caught Franck in a lie. According to what he told my credit card company, he said the outage was only four hours. Slightly different than say from 6pm to 8am the next morning which would have been a more accurate time frame. Is it the end of the world I’m out about $150? No, not at all. And I don’t like to sound like I’m complaining. But the images and online descriptions of this place make it seem a lot nicer than it is. And as glamorous as the Olivier Suite sounds, it’s far from it. …
The old city of Hyères, the Ile de Porquerolles and Saint Tropez were our reasons for staying here. All 3 locations were fantastic... We especially loved our relaxing day on the Ile de Porquerolles. Franck the owner upgraded us to a very comfortable apartment in the main house and gave us a nice bottle of wine. Franck also did a great job explaining how to visit each of our destinations- he did a really great job with this. His English is excellent but because we were trying to speak French he spoke slowly which was very considerate. We had breakfast once - it was huge! And very delicious - nice fresh pastries, cheeses, yogurt etc. The stay was great! The house is very old and so there were some minor issues or this would have had a 5 rating. But if you factor in the price, this is a 5 out of 5 on value for sure. I would recommend it for a 2-4 day stay in the area as Franck is like a free tour guide :-)…
We have travell to Marseille! 1st time we have check the Beach at Saint Tropez, the hotels and apartments was very expensive in this area. I have found this Place on Booking.com, the Price was good and the pictures...awesome!! The owner was very friendly. Hyéres is a beautiful mediterran City, it's very homely. I will come back in a next year for long Vocation. I would like stay here!!
We recently spent three nights in the one bedroom bungalow with our two children. The property was easy to find and conveniently located to the interstate. Abundant parking and a secure gate accessed by a key fob. The room is secured by an electric key operated storm shutter. The owners are friendly and live on the property. They have lovingly restored the family farm into this accommodation. The breakfast was plentiful and typical of the French with lots of bread, jams, cheese, juices, coffee, etc. Wifi only worked in the central breakfast/garden area. The bungalow furnishings and decor were modest but we spent most days out exploring and enjoyed our meals outside al fresco. The children were in a bunk bed in our room that had a comfortable double. The top bunk is difficult to access due to no ladder so I would keep that in mind if traveling with a really young or small child. The AC worked well and the kitchen was functional with a microwave and two burner stove, no oven. Could use a dish rack. There was a clothes washer and a drying rack on the terrace. We found the property clean and in good repair. The pool was a plus for cooling off before dinner. Definitely bring your mosquito spray. If you have toddlers, the pool is secured by a safety gate and there is a small play area with a playhouse and swing. It is not really walking distance to town or the beach but close to large Casino grocery and the owners are really helpful to direct you in French or English. I would definitely stay here again.…
The place has its own charm and the owners are helpful. The garden and the heated swimming pool along with the free private parking come as a bonus. We did like the room but some aspects were lacking practicality - like the separate private bathroom which has a small bathtub along with a semi-open shower or the Wi-Fi signal which is impossible to reach inside the house.
