The Hotel d'Europe in Avignon was a great place to stay for a visit to avignon and the Provence area. The rooms are classically decorated and very romantically French. The coutyrad is heaven - to relax with a glass of wine after a long day of touring. Everyone was helful and welcoming. A definite high recommendation

The hotel is located within the walls where the streets are very narrow. But since it is right by one of the entrances and they have valet service, it was very convenient. The rooms are old but had a certain charm. There was a step down from the bathroom door to the bedroom.

I recently spent five nights in this charming hotel as a base for my first trip to Provence. Selecting a hotel based solely on its website and reviews on travel forums can be hit or miss but Hotel d'Europe not only met but exceeded my expectations. I left SoCal on Sunday morning and did not reach the hotel until Monday...

We have just returned from a trip to Paris and spend three days in Provence staying at this magnificient hotel. We had a wonderful room--never saw so much marble in one bathroom and those unusual chromed fixtures!. The mattresses were so thick--the room was beautiful--the hotel was was just class. The staff was great--gave us Pierre, who was a superb...

Seriously, how in the world did this hotel receive 5 star ratings???!!! I can see the charm of old world but for a 5 star hotel, I would expect new world amenities. The toiletries were cheap and honestly, my girlfriend refused to walk around the room without the slippers. The stairs were sloped and structurally unsound. The first room we...

It's difficult to justify paying extra when you are on a lengthy trip through France, but this hotel was worth it. It's centrally located, the staff speaks perfect English (but will cheerfully engage in practicing French with you), the rooms are wonderful and the service is great. We spent two nights here and in spite of bad weather were able...

We enjoyed 2 lovely nights here in May - great traditional hotel with excellent service. Room was lovely, although overlooked the main courtyard which was a bit noisy each night, but not unbearably so. Excellent cuisine and great location close (walking distance) to the main centre of Avignon

Arrived from st. Remy in a rain storm on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was closed but they said we could have bar menu & room service around the clock. Hotel is old Quaint and quirky which is part of the charm. Reception Staff is phenomenally attentive and lovely. We would have gone out but it was bucketing and we...

The staff were all very welcoming, polite and helpful. The hotel is located very close to the entry within the walled city and a pleasant walk to the center of town. Although our room didn't look quite as fresh and new as the photo's on the website, it was spacious and comfortable and came with a refrigerator and great bathrooms....
