The hotel is right in the heart of Aix en Provence and an easy walk to everything you need to see. The room was large and well fitted out, very modern and arty. The staff were helpful and polite and happy to show you where and what to do in this great French town.

Excellent hotel with great service. The rooms are all different and since it is a small hotel the service is friendly. Sadly my trip was cut short and I had to cancel my last night because of a change of time of my flight. They staff were great and did not charge me, very rare. Totally recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a short stop in Aix-en-Provence. We stayed in the "Mirabeau" room. The room had a funky-modern decor which we liked. The ceilings were really high and the windows were really large and opened so we looked directly down at the Cours Mirabeau. Everything was new and clean and the bed...

The place is really noisy on the Cours Mirabeau. The wifi did not work at all during the 2 days we spent, even if we asked several times to fix it. Last but not least, the shower was not evacuating the water? So we had the choice between no shower and a pool in the room ! We asked several...

I made an online booking at the hotel on 7 August 2015, which I had to cancel on 10 August 2015, due to unforeseen changes in our travel plans. At the time that the reservation was received (i.e. 7 August) the hotel debited my credit card immediately with 50% of the total cost - almost 370 EUR. Although they have...

In the very centre of the old town, excellent service, very good rooms, with AC. Room decoration modern, perhaps not to everyones taste, Breakfast room a bit too large and could benefit from some refreshment of the decoration and furniture. The rooms are boutique hotel, but not the public spaces. Breakfast is adequate. This is not a luxury hotel, but...

We stayed in room 102 which overlooked Cours Mirabeau so it is in a great location. No parking so avoid arriving by car as it means quite a long walk through town with your suitcases. We couldnt make up our mind if the room was ultra chic - or just plain wierd. The bathroom was in a sort of greenhouse...

My very ordinary room in this overpriced hotel was decorated like a Ramada that you might find in Kentucky. The nice young man at the desk was new and had been given almost no training. His manager, Marc, who appeared later, was extremely rude and sarcastic. He was heard loudly insulting a guest in the lobby who complained about a...

If you want to enjoy the Aix city center, stay here! It's the best of the best, sexy rooms, lots of natural light. The price is correct, book it with booking.com. The breakfast is delicious! The hotel was rather empty, I have no explanation for that.

First is location! The hotel situated in the very center of the city in pedestrian zone. Thus you are in the maelstrom right you're out of the hotel doors. From another hand it's difficult to get there by car - so you call the receptionist and they come out to open the entrance with residential access card. Parking at the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Hotel de Gantes, located on the famous Cours Mirabeau, above the Brasserie Les Deux Garcons in Aix en Provence. This charming hotel, with 11 bedrooms and suites of "character" will seduce you with its stylish decor which combines both modernity and history. The style of the rooms are inspired by the famous Aixois book "Livre d'Or" belonging to the Brasserie Les Deux Garcons (Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso and Emile Zola) paying homage to the emblematic figures of Aix, not to mention the King Roi Rene. The Hotel De Gantes is perfectly located in the center of Aix, a stones through away from the highlights of the town, such as The Museum Granet, the Grand Teatre de Provence, the Tourist Office, the Courthouse, and the many splendid water fountains and Provincial architecture which sets Aix apart. The top floor suite of the hotel offers our guests a terrace facing the sunshine. The perfect occasion to afmire the view of the prestigious Cours Mirabeau while eating breakfast which our staff will deliver to your room. ... more   less
