We are budget travelers and never have high expectations, but are pleasantly surprised when hotels are really nice. This place was very average for a budget lodging. A nice simple room to get some rest while sight seeing. Kind of like a Motel 6 in the USA. The worst aspect was a smelling shower curtain. If you budget travel, you... More

The hotel is located just a few minutes from the old town with its many cafes and restaurants. The room was basic but adequate for the price. The wifi worked well and there is a fan in the room. Parking is difficult. We paid €20 for parking overnight at Parking Pasteur across the road.

I stayed solo for five nights in a double room. First I was given a room oriented toward the street. The room was very airy and there was a big sycamores tree in front of the window. But also a noise from the street. It seems that the noise from the street stops about 11 p.m. and it was quiet... More

Places like Hotel Paul are dear to my heart. Yes it is basic but it is places like these that let us travel on a budget. It was clean, the staff helpful (if not dear), and convenient enough. Parking is 60 meters away in a public parking garage. The hot chocolate at breakfast was awesome because they warmed up some... More

Stayed here as base to watch England. OK rooms, clean, bathroom bit naff but does job. Approx 10min walk to coach station. 40min coach drive away from marseille. Would not advise visiting marseille - awful place. Aix-en-Provence is nice town but bit boring. Hotel sound as a Base.

Yes this place is a 1 star hotel but the price reflects that. It was noisy at times being right on a Main Street however the location is great. You enter the old town less than a block away and there are plenty of cafe's bakeries, fresh fruit, groceries within minutes of here. The walk from the train station was... More

Basic accommodation right out of the historical centre, which allows you to park your car nearby and get downtown straightway. But just basic facilities, including service. Anyway, good if on a budget and willing to stroll this wonderful city all day!

Because we arrived on a Sunday we couldn't get into the hotel till 18.00 so we enjoyed exploring the beautiful city which was only a few minutes walk from the hotel. On arriving back the owner checked his watch to see the time was 18.00 He did not have a welcoming approach at all. Our room was big but vert... More

Hotel Paul is well situated for visiting the historic district, and it's a bargain. We liked Room 19, with its view of the cathedral tower, which is lighted after dark. The room was clean and spacious, with bathroom and closet. Parking is available in the Pasteur municipal parking garage (not free, we paid 33 € for 36 hours).

For car parking you must take into account 20euros more per day. Room was normal big. Not really clean, toilette was partially broken, shower was really tiny and if you get a window to main street...it is going to be loud. For just one night driving through it is ok. One of the cheapest hostels in Aix en Provence and... More
