Detailed Reviews
We spent a few Däy’s in La Rochelle. This Ibis is in a great location. The facade is pretty- maybe it was an old church(?).
They say you must reserve parking, and they didnt have a space for us. A girl at the mercure front desk in angers grew up in La Rochelle, and she said there’s lots of parking and drew us 2 maps. The hotel helped us find close by public parking.
When we went to room 209, the hallway stank of toxic artificial room freshener. I could tell there was mildew everywhere, but our room was fine. We opened the window, too.
We had to book a 4 person room, so there was a spacious bathroom with a hairdryer plug next to the mirror (bonus).
The breakfast was better than average for ibis. Laid out beautifully.
The staff was very nice and helpful, even humoring my primitive French.
They could use a small ramp for the luggage out front.
Note for parking: we paid by card at a machine on the -3floor where the car was: almost $40 for two nights. Then when we left, the atm just lifted up without asking us for the ticket, so… maybe one doesn’t really have to pay? There was a free day? Who knows.

We stayed here for one night before heading to the Ile de Ré. The hotel is in an excellent location, near to the port with all the restaurants and bars nearby, and yet it is quiet too.
Check-in and check-out was very efficient with friendly, helpful staff on the desk.
Breakfast was excellent, as is the case with all Ibis hotels we've stayed in, with a good selection of hot and cold foods served in a very pleasant breakfast area, with lots of natural light, clean, and with staff constantly topping up supplies. Coffee very good!
Our room on the ground floor looked onto the interior courtyard so need to keep curtains closed for privacy. Comfortable, large bed and bathroom well equipped.
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The erea was fantastic, the girls at reception were very helpful and extremely friendly. The room we paid for as an upgrade and received 2 welcome drinks, we expected a small room and that’s what we got but our complaints are no replacement coffee satchets or paper cups, the pump cleanser in the shower was empty but you don’t notice until you are in the shower and then try to unclip the one above the bathroom sink. The girls cleaning the rooms should check these things every time.

This little ibis is great value for money, above and beyond what you can normally expect from this brand. It is in an old church in the old port, with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
The staff is also unusually friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Great location but sadly has went downhill from my last visit. Room was clean but basic the shower was inside a bath which was very high so the step in and out of the bath to take a shower was extremely dangerous. The paint was pealing from the ceiling due to damp but overall the room was adequate for the stay although overpriced for the amenities

The hotel is in the perfect location to many bars and restaurants plus right on top of the port. We were there when La Rochelle won the rugby cup which enhanced the atmosphere. We booked a table on our first night at Le 4 Sergents and had a ball. It was a great night with great food live music and ended with a dj. We used the bar on the second evening but found there was very little for them to serve us with. When we mentioned this we were answered by one of the staff with “this isn’t a bar!”. We mentioned that it was raining outside so would like to be able to have a drink at the hotel and she replied “we’ll get a coat on”. Really rude and not hospitable at all. All other staff seemed fine and pleasant. The room was ok but thought that the bathroom could do with a refurb.

Hotel was in a converted church with retained facade but clean and modern interior. Location was near the marina with everything in easy walking distance. Lovely little shaded courtyard area was a welcome retreat to enjoy a drink after a long day exploring. The pre-booked parking was a huge bonus. However what made our stay was the exceptionally friendly team who went out of their way to make this a memorable stay as nothing seemed to be too much trouble and every request was greeted with a smile - 1st class service!
Disliked · Bed was a bit hard for our liking as was a divan with mattress topper and pillows a little lumpy so not the most comfortable sleep for us

A clean and comfortable basic Ibis in an excellent location on the old port. Good breakfast, no idea about parking. Didn't eat in other than breakfast but a huge choice of restaurants within a short walk.

Ideal location to visit La Rochelle. Very close to the old port and restaurants.
Nice hotel and lovely staff
Stayed for 2 nights and will definitely return the next time I’m in the area
Bus stop for complimentary bus trip to airport (line1b) just around the corner. Much better value than the £30 I paid for a taxi from the airport
Hotel is Great value for money

Our second stay at this well situated hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, staff are pleasant and helpful and they serve very nice breakfasts.
Plus there's a Carrefour a few doors away to get cold drinks and snacks to take to your room.
