We were passing and thought Touques looked like a good place to stop for lunch. We only wanted a light meal and despite the massive meat related meals others were eating we managed to find something on the menu that wasn't too big. Our party chose three different options - free range chicken salad; pate and a local speciality dish of egg, cream and Camembert. All delicious. A very friendly waiter and good service
If only I had read the earlier review before booking. Everything the reviewer says is still the same and things seem to have got worse. We were allocated the highest priced room, (although we had paid much less that the stated rate using booking.com). The owner who had clearly been having an afternoon nap, seemed surprised to find a guest wanting entry. Pre-payment for the room was required, despite having furnished my credit card details on booking. Only when staggering up incredibly steep steps with our luggage (no help offered) did we see a notice that breakfast was at 9am. We avoided this by using a friendly local bar where the owner, having taken our order, rushed to the next door boulangerie to get what we wanted!…
