Stayed for 2 nights with a group of motorcyclists. The room was clean and well equipped. Free wi-fi was excellent. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of food. Small (well stocked) bar. Friendly staff. Great cental location. Secure parking opposite. Nothing to fault the hotel and would stay again.

Having discovered the Royal (Kyriad Centre, as was) several years ago we always look forward to staying here when visitng Caen. Briac and his team are most hospitable and provide excellent service, the hotel is on one of Caen's lovely Places right in the centre of the city. Shops, restaurants, the castle, markets etc are a few minutes walk. The...

On arrival the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was modern and a good size but the bathroom was small (this can be the norm in France). The breakfast was good and as you would expect. On check out the staff we're very nice and genuinely warm and friendly. The location was good and very central with good...

We spent a few days in France in early March 2015 and headed to Caen for an overnight trip for the D-Day tour we booked for the next morning. We took the train in from Paris and arrived in the middle of the afternoon. From the train station we hopped on the city bus which drop us off very close...

Excellent hotel all round. Perfect location. Staff very helpful and polite. Quiet and comfortable room. Went midweek in January 2015 for a short break. Having asked about the history of the hotel one of the staff (Briac) showed us the photographic history of this, the oldest hotel in Caen. As a frequent visitor to Caen, wherever possible I will stay...

We were in France in late October. After spending 7 days in Paris, we got out of the city and headed to Caen to tour the D-Day beaches for 3 days, 2 nights. Caen is a good city to use as a base for this. Our hotel was on the city square, which pretty much closed down after 9pm, something...

We stayed here for 2 days. First the pros : It is located near the abbey and castle, within a 10 minute walk. The water pressure was good and the internet connection was satisfactory. Parking was €9 for 24 hours, from 4pm-4pm, at a multi-basement public carpark in front of the hotel. Our room was mid size for 3, facing...

Stayed for one night during D day trip. Very welcoming receptionist and clean comfortable room. Had the breakfast in the morning, a bit overpriced for what it was, pastries, ham, cheese and bread.. The coffee was not very nice either. However would definitely stay again if visiting Caen again
