My wife and I spent one night at the hotel while touring the Normandy beaches. Hotel rate was good. Close to main section of Caen. We found the hotel to be very pleasant, nice dining room, and easy to navigate for 70 yr olds. Morning breakfast was excellent . Would recommend this hotel to our friends.

The Best Western Le Dauphin is a lovely hotel right just a block from William the Conqueror's castle. The room was very bright and pleasant. The staff were very friendly, always willing to give advice about where to rent cars, where to park, and how to get where we needed to go. The whole place felt very cozy. The breakfast...

Having read about the antique furnishings we were a little dissapointed. We had a room in a newer wing (with and elevator) with furnishings more typical of a newer mid grade 3 star hotel which this is, but the room was also larger, more like what we would expect in North America than Europe. The bathroom was clean and up...

No parking spots available. Imagine having driven for 3+ hours to arrive at dusk with no parking. Then our room only had 1 bed when the reservation was for twin beds. They fixed that by giving us separate rooms which was fine. However these rooms were in the old building and there was no lift. I paid a kitchen boy...

Pictures on web site deceptive. Shows castle like structure, Not this Hotel ! Exterior and reception area are beautiful , old world charm , lovely dining room. curved staircase with stone wall. However, this is a front ! We had room in new section, very plain. Met another couple from USA, staying in old section, they said their room was...

Thank God we've spent just one night at Le Dauphine! The lady at the reception was rude, and although my reservation had stated in capital letters that I needed a no-smoking room due to severe breathing allergies, well ... she just ignored it ... and refused to give us a free upgrade. We were given a room at the 2nd...

Upon arrival at Le Dauphin late afternoon, the woman at the front desk, who we presumed to be the innkeeper, was barely civil to us. We assumed she was just having a bad day however you can imagine our dismay when we turned down the bedspread that night to find numerous black hairs on the pillowcase and a good-sized stain...

We spent one night here in April 2005. This hotel is located near the Chateau built by William the Conqueror. We reserved through the Best Western internet site and paid 150 Euros for the deluxe room. (This was much higher than our Holiday Inn in Paris)! The room in which we stayed (#303) is the one shown in the Best...

This is a very nice hotel in an excellent location. The rooms were very nice, the staff very helpful, and the restaurant was excellent. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Walking distance to food and sites. Stayed in the newer portion of the hotel - rooms were ample. People traveling in europe need to realize that most hotels are not as spacious as ones in the US. Staff was great. Bar was pleasant. Dinner in restaurant was good - a tad overpriced but we were too tired that...
