We were looking forward to staying at a chateau, but the rooms in the barn section were not nearly as charming as we expected. The setup of the bathroom was odd and inconvenient, as the toilet and extremely small sink were downstairs and the shower was upstairs. The ventilation was inadequate, with only one small window on the middle floor....

Returned just over a week ago having visited with a group of 8 others. The hotel's grounds are delightful and maintained to a standard appropriate to it's situation with a few tables and chairs available in the front of the building and a car park situated to the side of the building. On the ground floor are the reception/lounge/dining areas,...

We booked 3 nights B&B at this hotel via a deal on the Brittany Ferries website. It is a typically French château in beautiful grounds with a running stream. Our room was comfortable with a large en-suite bathroom though the two bedroom lights didn't kick out enough wattage to be able to see the contents of the wardrobe. It was...

We found the booking of rooms very confusing, after first being offered a Privilege room , then being told none were available, we settled for the Duplex Suite. This we were informed via email was in the old Stable, or annex. The rooms in the main Chateau as per the photographs on the website look more traditional, the Duplex suites...

This is a quiet old chateau about 1 km out of Bayeax, which can be difficult if you do not have a car. The property is pleasant with gardens. The chateau is rather faded and worn and not the cleanest place I've ever stayed by a long shot; although still quite expensive. We enjoyed the lounge and dinner and the...

Having the tern Chateau means that pretty much everything from the past is preserved. The rooms in the chateau are quite roomy and ours was no exception. Most of staff at the front desk on the edge of snooty, even to French speaking guests. Maybe they are used to acting snooty to others, however they have much to learn about...

We stayed at the Chateau for two nights it was a very old and enchanting hotel. But the grounds were not kept us, the grass etc needed some TLC. Breakfast was included but the food was not ready when it should have been. It was locate on the outskirts of Bayeau so we had to take a cab when we...

I would have rated this hotel higher if it were not for a few problems we had. We had rented two rooms in the Chateau and one room in the annex, with written confirmation. On arrival we were told we only had one room in the actual Chateau and two in the annex. The rooms in the annex were quite...

This is a pleasant former chateau on the edge of Bayeux - 5 minutes by car from downtown. The grounds are particularly nice - a stream with ducks and geese runs through the grounds. Avoid the restaurant - overpriced and not particularly good. And the breakfasts are pricey - you can go into town and eat at a cafe for...
