This was so bad we l left after the first night. It was suppose to be non smoking. Our room was above the private rooms of the owner. Unbelievable amout of smoke into roon. No check in desk nor did anyone speak English (perhaps)

Not your typical large chain hotel, small quirky and a little off the beaten track. The hotel is basic but clean. Tasty breakfast, served in lovely dining room. Would definitely return if in the area.

The breakfast was one of the best French breakfasts that we have had on our travels. Dinner was good. There are excellent dog walks within the grounds. We found the welcome etc. very friendly. My only real negatives were the traffic noise - we were at the front and like to sleep with our windows open - and the lack...

Relaxed, quirky accommodation full of character. Simple, friendly and very clean with a restaurant serving interesting and tasty food in the evening. I recommend the cider with plums cocktail. We didn't have the breakfast, just a cup of coffee which perhaps I would not recommend. Very pleasant stay altogether.

I have stayed here twice. Once cycling from London to Italy and then again, but cycling from Italy to London. It is very quirky. Lots of stone work and wonky rooftops with wooden beams and uprights everywhere. I call it my Hobbit hotel and I like it. Had a bit of a to-do about the room booking but that was...

Perfect location when visiting verdun. Off the beaten path and funky. Traveled with a family of four that included two teens. Our room was spacious with two bathrooms. Friendly service. The dinner was very tasty. Plenty of parking and free wifi.

I have stayed here before when guiding clients around the VERDUN BATTLEFIELD. It is run by Lucien who built the place and made the furniture. In fact everything you see and sit on was made by his hands. It is a homage to Asterix. It looks weird but works well. In nice weather you can dine under the trees but...

We spent two days here in May. The folks were very helpful. We needed to stay an extra day and they made it happen. They also helped with directions to get around the area. Verdun was "closed" because of the 100 year anniversary and the many dignitaries in town.

A bit different to the run of the mill establishments. Quirky but very friendly and helps if you know some French. Breakfasts were adequate even if a bit basic (but not the quality). Fairly large portions for dinner, but not a huge choice. There is no bar, although you can obtain a drink in the restaurant. We considered our stay...

We stayed for 4 nights and had an excellent time. Le Village Gaulois is a very convenient base for exploring the museums, memorials and forts relating to the Battle of Verdun. We also very much enjoyed the breakfasts!

Thank Matthew W
