The Auberge des Lices is in a fantastic location in the mediaeval cite of Carcassonne. It is in a quiet street. The building doesn't look like much from the outside but the room we had was lovely. It was large, nicely furnished, clean, with a modern large bathroom ensuite. Our room overlooked the auberge restaurant courtyard, the ramparts and the...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's upstairs from the restaurant. The room and bathroom were both good sized and updated. We heard restaurant noise until about 10:30 as they cleaned up for the night. After that, it was very quiet. The staff was very friendly. Parking is a little complicated. Rick Steves has a good explanation about how...

Recommend that you phone the Auberge first to check time of check in and parking arrangements. Good english is spoken. The Auberge is shut between 3 and 6 in the afternoon. A code is provided after booking in to enter the Auberge when shut. Booked in at 2, by prior arrangement. Parking is free, however, you have to park in...

The room was spacious featuring a large bathroom and views of the Cité of Carcassonne. The location was exactly as advertised - in the heart of the medieval city. We did however experience problems getting enough water to fill the large tub on the first night. We didn't try to fill the tub the following day since the pressure was...

If you want to stay in the medieval town then this accomodates you perfectly. Parking a bit far, but for the rest ok. We had no contact with the staff, a good self check in and check out system. Room was good, decoration is decent and the views are actually quite impressive. It's walking distance to all the main attraccions. I...

We chose this hotel as it was right in the heart of the medieval walled city. As there are only two rooms above the restaurant, this part of the business is secondary so we needed to wait until a set time to get the keys and check in. The managers are very friendly and showed us to the larger of...

Contrary to what many people say, we came in at 2 o'clock, during lunch and was checked in in two minutes. Nice, clean room with cathedral view. Very good air-con and a big and useful bathroom. The restaurant beneath made some noise, but it didn't bother us much. Parking is a bit tricky, though. You need to use the parking...

Carcssonne in high season is a bit of a zoo. This restaurant is a beautiful oasis hidden from the throngs. The service is excellent, the wait staff pleasant. The food is terrific! My brother and I had the cassoulet (kind if a must-do) and it was to-die-for. Appetizers and dessert was great as well. If I were going back to...

Excellent dinner at a very nice restaurant with a lovely terrace. We went to la Cité in Carcassonne a saturday night to find a nice restaurant, and we were not disappointed. Staff was friendly and timing was perfect. The taste of the lamb was just excellent.

We had a nice room at this Auberge, and the location of it is definitely very good for visiting the city. The room was clean with a very nice bathroom, and we had a view over to the Cathedral which was great. The staff are helpful, and the owner went out of his way to help us get our luggage...
