The location right in the Medieval city is amazing. You walk out and history is all around you. The sights are so breathtaking. The confusion begins with arrival. You arrive at the cite and report to the hotel welcome area (acceuil). There you wait in your car until the bus from the hotel comes to get you. None of this...

This hotel was awesome! Right in the center of a walled city/castle. Smaller rooms, but to be expected. Historic feeling being in there. Staff was helpful for making dinner reservations. Walking distance to everything.

Really well positioned hotel in the center of the walled village. A little expensive, but the location was worth it - no travelling up from town daily to get to the castle. Quite a range of restaurants around to choose to eat at and only steps away from the castle entry.

It was such a treat to spend the night within the walls of the city. By staying at the hotel, we got to enjoy the magical feel of Carcassone at night, sans tourists. That was quite magical! The room itself was fine - on the small side with an efficient bathroom. It was everything we needed, but nothing about the...

We chose the Best Western Le Donjon because of its location. It was perfect for exploring within Cité de Carcassonne, restaurants, and the Château Comtal. Although we only stayed one night, the hotel staff was excellent and provided top-rate customer service for both check-in and check-out. Our room was superbly clean and comfortable. We definitely recommend this place!

Stayed just 1 night and had a nice room although the heater did not work in either the bedroom or the bathroom. It was a cold, rainy night, so I called for someone to fix the heating. Someone brought me an electric heater which turned on and off all night. I've stayed here before, but only during the summer. I...

A friend recommended it on the basis there are very few hotels inside the medieval city itself. As much as anything it means it is easiest to enjoy the city at night once the vast crowds have left for the day. Very atmospheric after dark by the way. As a hotel was quite happy with it. Staff were friendly and...

Great location. Very central within the old town walls. I prefer staying in the old cite to the main Carcassonne town over the river. It's lovely to stroll around the old cobbled streets & never more than 5 minutes from the hotel. A very comfortable hotel. I felt safe which was important to me as I was travelling alone. Reception...

couldn't fault this place. In the heart of the old city in a medieval building so it didn't feel like a hotel chain. It was very reasonably priced, cheaper than the apartments advertised and far cheaper than other hotels. Double glazing meant you couldn't hear any noise outside although it was quiet when we were there. Nice little bar to...
