Very nice rooms for a budget hotel, toilets are kept clean. Shower wasn't the worst i've used but could have been cleaner, very small and only two for the entire hotel, however never had to wait to get in them even in the mornings. Staff were all very friendly, some more than others, seemed happy to recommend places to eat...

This is as cheap as it gets for Paris. Close to public transport and a variety of asian restaurants within the neighbourhood. My room was small, but not cramped. It was clean, basic and had everything you needed for a short stay. Staff were very friendly. The staircase is quite narrow so be prepared to carry your luggage up to...

Great location, near the Metro, with easy access pretty much everywhere. Nice and helpful staff. Located in Oriental part of Paris, which we liked (Oriental for Europe, not really oriental). Room was clean. Small, but adequate. No fridge. But the street noise!! The only time it went nearly quiet was at about 5:00 am. No lift, so if you want...

A pleasent place to stay, reasonably well located for 4 and 14 metro lines. The room I had was clean and larger than you normally get in Paris for the modest cost. Very good bed. Staff were professional and I appreciated the cat - nice friendly touch. On the negative side there was quite a lot of street noise on...

We stayed at Hotel Tolbiac for 5 nights and will definitely be back if we come back to Paris. The rooms were basic but perfectly suited to travelers on a budget who will be out and about all day. The hotel staff were really helpful. Price was amazing. Metro Tolbiac is less than a five minute walk away. Definitely recommend.

Stayed at this hotel in February 2013 for just one night. It's a small hotel near Tolbiac metro station (less than 10 minutes walking) Good value for money. Will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again in the future. The room is quite small but warm and cozy in the winter. The absence of elevators was not a problem...

Located just outside the very centre of Paris, but not so far out to be boring, within Chinatown; an interesting place itself, and close to Butte-aux-Cailles, with its excellent French restaurants. The immediate area still has it's fare share of good French bakeries/cake shops though. It's fairly basic but friendly, with a good continental breakfast, coffee provided all day and...

Great budget hotel. Nothing fancy, just clean sheets to sleep between. But then again - this is all I expect from a hotel and that's what I paid for. Nice staff, location was also good. I am defintitely staying there again.

My family and I have stayed at Hotel Tolbiac 4 or 5 times, although not recently. (I HAD to put in SOMETHING on the travel dates listed below to get this review to come up. But I wanted a chance to put my two cents in as far as reviewing this hotel since I feel that it's WELL WORTH a...

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
