Me and my partner stayed in this Hotel for just for two nights over the weekend. We both visited Paris several times in the past years, so what we were looking for when booking was a Hotel outside the inner touristic crowd but still not far away from it, and which is located close to any metro station. Hotel des...

Im not going anymore. It was my second time there. No pillows, dirty sheets, the reception very unfriendly . The neighborhood is one of the worst. If you are going for pleasure it is not a good choise .

We had a very good stay here. The receptioniste was very friendly, speaks english quite well and explained how to reach the main attractions by metro/subway. He even walked with me to the parking garage to get a better price. There is a parking garage 50 metres from the hotel where you only pay 10 euro per day. Only for...

I have just back from a one-night stay at this hotel, from Ireland. I arrived at 830pm and was offered the only remaining room - I offered to pay in advance but was told that it this wasn't necessary. I went to the room, number 36, and was tired so wanted to sleep. But there was a very loud noise...

The hotel has a good location (related to Metro station) - a few steps from the Metro station. The region is totally different from what you expect to see in Paris. I recommend to stay in the area only for sleeping, do not return to hotel later than 22:00. But the hotel is nice. What impressed me so much: rooms...

The hotel has a good location - a few steps from the Metro station. The region is relatively safer compared to other places in Paris. The hotel was recently rejuvenated. The rooms still smell of paint. The rooms themselves are clean and spacious. The beds are comfortable. There is no lift and the stairs are pretty narrow. There are no...

Very clean room, friendly stuff, close to the Metro station (line 2, goes directly to Sacré Coeur). The breakfast could be a little bigger, some nutella, cheese or eggs would be good (for the moment it's baguette with always the same marmalade). The hotel is close to Rue Oberkampf with many pubs and cafés. Near the hotel is a parking...

Hotel des Vosges is very basic but at this price you can't really ask for more. Room was clean and front desk staff was very nice. They even give you coffee and a baguette. We wanted to explore Belleville and this hotel was right in the center of the action.

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
