The single room is very Small and basic. Saving Grace was the window. Stayed there for 3 nights. The TV in the room was not working. Nobody fixed it even after it was reported to the reception.

We stayed there for two nights from 03rd June 2015. The room was very basic. You have to carry your luggage to first floor to get the lift because it starts from there. Lift is not small as I have seen lift smaller than this...More
The room was pretty basic and pretty small. It was clean and not uncomfortable and close to Gare de Lyon (which is why I chose it). The bathroom was quite tight -- anyone larger than average in height or girth would have difficulty getting into...More

Yes, me and my husband consider that it's safe to walk on Rue de Lyon and around Gare de Lyon, we actually done it at midnight and there were enough decent people at the restaurant, on October 2014, the same thing for walking thru Place de Bastille. Instead, going to Bercy (the opposite direction for Bastille), there is a less lightened passage/road, smelling of urine, on which I'll be suspicious to go late at night ... Over all, I would not worry enjoying late night travelling solo, we've done it for 5 different visits and had no problems :)
