This hotel is a wonderful little package. Rooms as beautifully equipped with everything you could need, are modern and extremely comfortable. I loved the French windows on both sides (one from bedroom on to the quiet street-scape and one from the bathroom on to the private hotel courtyard. The service is excellent, especially from Fabien - suggested some perfect run...

Planning our Paris vacation for five months, so had plenty of time to consider the pros and cons of dozens of hotels in the St Germain area. The only thing, in the end, that I couldn't control was the weather (which was awful), which actually made us more appreciative of the hotel as a haven from the elements. Here goes:...

We stayed in two junior suites in Le Placide last weekend. I wish we had not. The photos on the hotel website were obviously taken a long time ago and our two rooms were now very run down - horrible stains on the wallpaper, lots of rips and damage to the wall paper and chipped furniture and window frames. One...

We would like to let you know that we are really sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in our property. We kindly ask you to consider the part of your travel agency who didn’t advise you the right place according to your requirements and expectations. A more traditional and a conventional size hotel on the right bank seems...

We stayed at the Le Placide this weekend. The staff, Christophe in particular, helped us with everything that we wanted, from an adaptor to booking restaurants. The rooms are adequate in size, bathroom beautiful, We didnt have breakfast as too much to do, but looked a good selection. It is located in a lovely area, near Le Bon Marche and...

The Placide is a nice boutique hotel - the only downsize is that it lacks a bit of atmosphere ... the rooms are well decorated but in need of a bit of TLC ... and they are much smaller and not as airy and bright as they appear in the website. Concierge was not very helpful on our stay even...

This hotel satisfies all the criteria for a proper boutique hotel. Superb location with metro station less than 5 mins walk away. Wonderful staff who really do make you feel welcome in a personal way without crowding you out. Great help in securing restaurant tables and good recommendations for alternatives (probably better than original choices in fact :) Comfy beds!...

Great location & excellent service by the people who work there, very friendly and attentive! Very small and quaint. Near many cool bistros and good shopping. Walking distance to everything (and metro). Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great location for true French culture and away from the commercial areas.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
