We stayed for 3 nights in June on the 4th floor. Our room looked out on the main street. There was some noise in the mornings as cafes and shops opened up, but nothing too bad. You could always take earplugs if you are a very light sleeper. The view was great and you could watch the hustle and bustle...

Friends of ours had recommended this hotel, but we couldn't have been more disappointed. As other reviewers have noted, the air conditioning does not work -- even though we had called ahead to make sure that it did. The rooms are situated over an outdoor cafe, so the smoke drifted in all night -- along with the noise. The security...

I picked this hotel for the location and I wasn't disappointed. It is only 2 blocks from the metro and within a very short walk of most sights in the Marais. The room I had (superior double) was quite large and there were no issues with noise as the windows are double pane. Free wireless internet worked well on 4th...

This small 20 room hotel located in the Marais area, was recommended to us by a friend. Although we had wanted to stay on the left bank, we trusted this friend and took his advise. We were so glad that we did. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. They bent over backward to see that we were comfortable and...

Good hotel in a great location near Notre Dame. We stayed during an April heatwave and the air conditioning wasn't working (I now discover other travellers report the same problem). So we had a choice between baking in our room (which was on the top floor) or sleeping with the window open, allowing in traffic noise. Skip Villa Mazarin in...

We stayed three nights on the fourth floor towards a courtyard in a superior room. The room was a good size for Paris, extremely quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We had breakfast outside, there plenty of lovely coffee shops in the area. Only negative points were the poor lighting in the room and the size of the bathroom,...

I stayed 5 nights at this hotel. It has a sensational location in the heart of the Marais. I stayed in one of the 2-floor rooms, more-or-less an attic room with gabled windows overlooking the rooftops of neighboring buildings. There was a small balcony on the first floor of this 2-floor suite. Many of the so-called amenities of the room...

I stay here regularly and it's great for the value. Obviously it's no Four Seasons, but the rooms are spacious, well decorated and clean, the location is great, and the price is unbeatable. The service is hit or miss. Some of the staff is very helpful and agreeable. A few are professional, but uninterested. And a few are idiots. And...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
