The pros: Good location, fair-sized room, OK price, rather quiet area, nice staff. The cons: Several bites on one of us two could witness about lice?! But not sure. A bit far from public transportation.

This hotel is in a great location between Gare de Lyon and Place de La Bastille. Rooms are small but quiet, clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Room has a safe and hairdryer. Our room came with a shower - which was really a wet room - but made good use of the small space. Towels were changed as often...

This little hotel is very good choice for your travels to Paris - both, small business or holidays. Great location next to Port of Arsenal, only few minutes walk from Place de la Bastille (where you can find all what you need - shops, restaurant, cafés, great bars/pubs, metro, vélolib stations (city bike rentals) etc. Small, but comfortable and clean...

Hotel des Trois Gares is a small privately owned hotel well located near Place de la Bastille and the Bastille Metro stop. Almost everything you would want to see in Paris is within walking distance, or a short Metro ride away if your legs get tired. The rooms are typically small but very clean, bright, well decorated and comfortable. A...

This little hotel is not luxurious but I found it very clean, conveniently located only few minutes from the Metro: if one is a keen walker then one can get pretty much everywhere from here as its location is central, close to the Louvre, Gare de Lyon, Notre Dame etc. From here I even strolled to Les Catacombes getting a...

It is very convenient to the metro, restaurants near the Bastille or the Gare de Lyon, the opera etc and it is quite spacious for europe, very clean, quiet and with excellent service. The only negative...

This was top 3 hotels during my trip. Very nice. Room was spacious for 3 people. About 5 minutes walking to subway stations Bastile or Gare de Lyon - access to 2 stations with main lines -- get anywhere in 20 minutes or less. I suggest an iPhone/iPod app PARIS METRO SUBWAY. It will give you exactly what lines to...

As my heading indicates, I was expecting the worst (given its two stars), but I was pleasantly surprised. The room furnishing are somewhat humble, but my room (505) was nearly immaculate. To be honest, I was also surprised at how clean the bedding, carpet, and bathroom were. For its location (near train stations, the metro, Bastille), this was a very...

Very convenient located and cheap. It was 36ºC and the description of the room on the website clearly said “Air Conditioning”. The room had no air conditioning and the reception personnel were well aware that many of the rooms in the hotel do not have air conditioning system installed. Asked to be moved to a room with air conditioning as...

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighbourhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighbourhood.
