This hotel is a gem. The room was so neat, modern and classy, super clean and fresh (Room 503); lovely bathroom with fresh thick towels every day and a nice tub to take a bath in the evening. Breakfast was included and it was nice: fresh coffee, choice of cereals, yogurt, fruits, pastries, breads, jams and marmalade, cheeses and ham,...

We stayed 8 days in a club room, the room was quite spacious, very well furnished, with frigo bar, lcd tv and a fantastic air conditioning and, most important, very clean. The bathroom was large, for Paris standard, and new. The room was also very quiet. We appreciated breakfast: food was great an you could eat as you want. The...

Villa Des Artistes was down a very quiet side street in the Montparnasse neighborhood in Paris. It is only two blocks to the nearest metro stop. Restaurants and boulangeries abound close by. There are even two small groceries within two blocks. The hotel rooms were sufficiently sized, with a very nice bathroom. We really appreciated the free wi-fi in the...

We had a really great break. It was good to know after sightseeing, wandering and just being, we were coming "home" to a lovely, clean, comfortable base. All staff were excellent and professional while welcoming and friendly. Leisurely breakfast was great and thanks for the tea on a very hot afternoon, it was so much appreciated. Bernard and Carmel Scanlon....

We found that the Villa Des Artistes was very suitable for our purpose. We wanted to see Paris by day and have a comfortable room to sleep in. Agreed that the rooms are not big, but it had airconditioning a big enough bathroom and it was fairly quiet. All in all, we were pleased about the hotel. It was clean,...

Just got back from spending 4 nights here with my 11-year old daughter. We had a tiny room, but big enough, just recently decorated I expect, and lovely. And a bathtub! What a luxury! We thoroughly enjoyed the stay - the staff was extremely helpful. We didn't buy the breakfast - trop cher! But the location is steps away from...

I chose this hotel mainly because it was close to where our son was staying in Paris, but I would go back there again just because we had such a nice experience. The hotel was clean and very charming. Our room was small (typical for Paris), but everything was fresh, clean and in good working order. We had room on...

I always find Parisian hotels to be expensive with small rooms. While our rooms were on the small side they were recently renovated and decorated, and they had adequate space, some of it cleverly arranged for putting away clothing and personal items. The price was moderate and acceptable for what we got. Our bathrooms were very modern and sleek. The...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
