Location is perfect.very near to the bus stop and the metro station. walking distance to many stores and markets. rooms are very small and heating is not good. if you travel on a very limited budget, this is your choice. otherwise try to find somewhere else.

My husband and I had the most unpleasant experience ever. We checked in the hotel in the afternoon. We had prebooked our double room. The lady at the reception took the money from us and gave us the room key. On entering the room we found it to be really small, but we had limited time to spend in France...

5 mn walk from the metro station... good geographical situation... clean room ... not that big but I guess once in Paris you are not looking for a great hotel as you will spend most of the time outside... very small elevator... great Thai restaurants around... quite neighborhood...

They won't store luggage from checkout till flight. Reception is indifferent, stubborn, and argumentative. Room is smelly and dirty. No pillows in the whole hotel. Not worth the price. The neighborhood is sketchy at night time with all sorts of characters lurking about just outside.

I choosed this hotel because it was the cheapest one near the fair center La Halle Frayssinet. The good: the position is convenient as the hotel is near the metro station "maison blanche" which goes directly to the Louvre or St.Germain areas. Staff is smiley and the asian suburb where it's located looks safe. The bad: my room was dirty...

I have been 1 night in this hotel. The owner was friendly and helpful. The room was not so equipped, anyway it was enough clean. The hotel is situated in a nice multi-etnical area, with a lot of asian restaurants around

Hotel is quite near the Maison Blanche station, probably about 5 min walk. It is also near a train station. But I will definitely advise future travelers to consider the luggage-unfriendliness of Paris train station before booking this hotel. There are so many flights of stairs in their train station and this definitely mean lugging of heavy luggage around train...

I booked the Hotel Novex a few weeks ahead, scrambling to find a Paris hotel before leaving for Europe. I chose the Novex based on availibility, location (parents were staying nearby in a different hotel), and price (my brother and I stay in hostels and budget hotels). With very few recent reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. Novex is...

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
