The hotel is located in a very pleasant area of Mon Matre, just a few minutes walk from The nearest Metro station, plenty of nice shops and cafes nearby, and perhaps 10 minutes walk to Sacre Cour. It is also just a few minutes walk from Moulin Rouge and close to theatres along the same main road, but well removed...

My niece ( 24, 1st visit to Paris) and I (50, 2nd visit) chose the hotel after reading 'Tripadvisor' reviews and seeing photos on the site,we were not disappointed. We loved the cosy entrance and lounge with jukebox, the Montmatre themed lift doors and old leather chairs and magazines on each landing. Our room (twin) was of a good size, compared to...

I stayed at the Hotel Des Arts with my wife for our anniversary this March and was initially a bit unimpressed with the area/road that the hotel was situated on having walked up from the metro station in the red light district which is a bit grotty looking in the day time for your first impression of Paris. Although, if...

I was so nicely surprised with this little boutique hotel. very artsy, befitting the bohemian neighborhood of montmartre. clean and updated bathrooms. my room had a wonderful balcony and was very spacious. didn't feel claustrophobic like most european rooms. located near moulin rouge and sacre couer. a great value with free internet in the lobby, wifi in the rooms, and...

We had a wonderful stay in our superior room at Hotel Des Arts Montmartre. The standard of the hotel is more of a 4 star than a 3 star. Beautiful and clean rooms. A bottle of champagne in the room for a little extra. A rose and a little chocolate were placed on our bathrobes - little details that made...

I booked this hotel, due to all the reviews on tripadvisor and it didn't disappoint at all. One of the best hotels I've stayed in in a long time. Great location for Montematre (Sacre Coeur, Moulin Rouge, Cemetery), great views other paris and only 30 mins walk to Grand Opera. Good spacious room, great staff, quite, stylish and quirky find....

If you want to stay in the centre of the Parisian artists' quarter this is for you. A lovely, friendly, family run hotel in an excellent location, admitedly up a bit of a hill. Spotless, well-equipped room, good facilities and an ample buffet-style breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We found it a perfect base for...

We spent 4 nights at the hotel mainly on the recommendations on TA - all I can say is it's not the worst hotel we have ever stayed at, but it comes pretty close. We had a room on the 5th floor, room 54 which was supposed to be a superior room, i have no idea why, the room measured...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

“La Goulue looks out over the street....if you want a very quiet room perhaps ask for one at the other side of the hotel. We were aware of heavy traffic at approx 5am each day.”

“Every room is different, based on a different artist. Our room on the top storey (6) had a view of the dome of the Sacre Coeur, but the elevator only goes to the fifth floor, so I would recommend that room for those who can navigate a flight of stairs with luggage. We loved it!!”
