I stayed here by myself in October and loved the hotel and the area. I felt totally safe even walking around before light in the morning, which is a wonderful time to see the interesting surroundings without lots of people. The location is wonderful and the hotel was very clean and well kept. Staff were very pleasant. I hope to...

we stayed in Jan 2011. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was well located in monmartre. Our room was on the small side but was perfectly suitable for the two of us. Breakfasts were good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again.

3 night stay at this small and beautiful hotel. We had a superior room with views across the roof tops of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Delightful at the beginning and end of the day to open the window and take in the panorama. Breakfast good with plenty of choices and always replenished. Staff on reception always pleasant and helpful...

This is a charming little hotel in a quiet street but very close to the Metro station Abbesses(and others). Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is generous and very good. From the top floor there are good views, including the Eiffel Tower (if you are facing the right way). Customer service was good and friendly. Emails were answered promptly. On...

Just a 20 minute walk from Gare du Nord, this lovely little hotel has the perfect location. Just around the corner are bars, cafes, restaurants, gorgeous food shops and galleries. The Moulin Rouge is 5 minutes away and so is the Sacre Coeur. Yes, the breakfast is basic but it is included in the price and is perfectly serviceable. Staff...

Des Arts is tucked away in the Montmartre neighborhood to the north of Paris. You're walking distance to the Metro though and it's very easy to get to all the major sights of the city. Montmartre itself is a very Bohemian neighborhood. This is where famous artists such as Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec lived and worked. That artistic vibe is...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
