Location! Location! Location! Oh and an excellent price and service. Budget hotel in the heart of the city. The staff are excellent and speak multiple languages. The rooms are clean, basic and small and the elevator is tiny. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms clean and spacey. You are 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame and 15 mins walk...

I would normally give a lower rating for this hotel, but let's face it: good accommodation in Paris is very expensive. Where else in Le Marais would you find a room for 50 euros per night? Such a rare combination of low price and excellent location was enough for me to overlook some things that would otherwise bother me. The...

The best budget hotel in Paris. One of the best position in town to visit and go around! It's not a premium place, but you will have a hostel standard "en centre ville". All services you need are outside, but Paris is really in the backyard! Enjoy your stay and spend your money to have fun!

Breaking with my normal Paris routine of staying on the Left Bank, usually the Latin Quarter/St Germain area, I decided to try the Marais district this time. In the district I chose Hotel Rivoli because of price (55 Euros per night). First of all they don't take credit cards. Even when I booked they didn't ask for a credit card...

If you want something that is right in the center of Paris this hotel is good. Walking distance to the left bank, heaps of cafes restaurants etc near by and the metro is a 30 second walk. The hotel itself is jaded and in need of some TLC and the room rates are a little bit expensive for what you...

I have been coming here since I was a student. Sometimes when I need to escape for a weekend in a low budget. I love Paris, I love le Marais. This is a budget hotel, that reminds me more of of a hostel. The rooms are very simple. No TV or wifi. But the rooms are clean, the staff are...

Rooms very clean and well decorated, staff fantastic and accommodating, fairly central ( right next to a metro station), right next to lovely restaurants etc, breakfast great, beds comfortable. We stayed as a group of 14, and we all said we would stay again. We booked on-line and got a really good price. Taxi journey from Gard Du Nord (Eurostar...

Prior to a recent one week stint I've stayed here many times over many years - its a family run hotel in the heart of the Marais district. In the past, considering location, price and quality, the hotel has been basic, but worth it. After my last visit I am left questioning the balance of price and quality. The price...

Rivoli is actually the Main Street of Paris but not to worry, Paris is car-unfriendly. You are two blocks from City Hall, Pont Neuf and the Marais District. Parisiennes shopping, students, Jewish folk, hip and not so hip tourists. Sidewalk cafés a dime a dozen. Amazing pre-dawn photography.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.

“All rooms will have traffic noise with open windows. Close the windows before bed. Ask for a large room on a lower floor to catch some of the street scene from your window. Breakfast is plain but we always ate there and sometimes fell into conversation with other tourists.”
