The impression that you are staying in an old house, but all the facilities are up-to-day. You don't have to walk a distance to get to Notre Dame de Paris. A metro station close to it and in some minutes you can get to any sight in the city.

Lodging, food and staff were excellent. The location is central and at a walking distance from most interesting sites. I used the booking facilities for excursions for the first time and all was perfectly organised. highly recommend the Youth Hostel.

I traveled alone and visit Paris for one night two days, For me MIJE was a very safe place to stay. And most of the tourist attractions are very close to visit. But you have to bring the amenity and towel by yourself.

This was my firs hostel experience and it was very nice. I stayed 5 nights in 4-bed dormitory. I booked 8-bed but they gave me 4-bed room, so it was great. Everything was clean, furniture was basic but in good condition. Breakfast was also basic, but nice and sufficient (if you like sweet breakfast). Staff was very polite and helpful....

Located in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Paris's vibrant Marais district. Even has a lovely courtyard for the rare but coveted sunny day in Paris. Friendly staff, well-kept rooms, and a delicious breakfast, all for a good price. Hard to beat!

I stayed here by myself for two nights in May and enjoyed myself. Friendly staff and a clean, homey building. The rooms are closed for cleaning/maintenance between noon and 3, and I arrived at 2, so I was able to leave my stuff in the locked luggage room and go exploring. You have to buzz at the front door to...

Great location - that is by far the stand out quality of this place. I also found it to be very clean. But in reality I wouldn't realy call it a hostel - it's more of a lodging for school and university groups and therefore as functional as you would expect, and little else. There is no chill out or...

I have mixed feelings about my 6-night stay at MIJE in July, 2014. First the positives - the location! Steps away from two metro lines and the Seine river, the Marais is an awesome and central neighborhood. Most nights after sightseeing we would return and grab dinner locally; there are a lot of great options. Shopping in the area was...

I am the leader of a school group, and we stayed here four adults with 34 children. The centre has a lot to recommend it to travellers; the location is great - 2 mins from the Seine, 10 mins walk from the Notre Dame, 10 minutes from the Place des Vosges, in the heart of the Marais (4th Arr.). The...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
