Before I went to lucky youth this week I checked the reviews on tripadvisor so I thought it would be cool but no obviously we were not as lucky as the others who commented on the hostel. I have been backpacking for the last 10 years and in my life I have never ever seen a horrible thing like this....

I filled out their reservation form on their website, submitted it, and haven't heard anything back from them in weeks. They also did not reply to a follow-up email. My trip is soon upon me, so I've had to settle on alternative accommodations. I'm not sure how a hosteling operation can operate without communicating with its customers, but Lucky seems...

Lucky Youth Hostel is an organisation that makes sure that people between 18-28 years can live in a backpacker friendly real Parisien apartment. Centered around the Sacre Coeur, living in the Montmartre area with new made friends, there's nothing better! In every apartment one can find a kitchen, bathroom, radio and sometimes even a washing machine. Because you are living...

My stay at Lucky Youth was incredibly. First a very courteous guide met us at abbeses metro stop and escorted us up to our very own flat in montemarte. The flat came with everything travellers would need, kitchen washroom, beds computer with internet and a great view of the city. It was very private and very secure. It was awesome...

I booked months in advance for my boyfriend and I to stay at the lucky youth hostel for 4 nights. I booked on hostelworld.com and I booked for a private room. I called several times before arriving to try and confirm my reservation, but the disorganized manager Elouis kept hanging up on me. i found it strange but thought it...

the location is great. but to call the place we stayed an apartment is just a complete lie. yes, it is in an apartment buliding and was once an appartment. but now its just a room with bunkbeds, the free internet is as slow as hell, only half the screen is operational, the kitchen is virtually non exsitant, not even...

The location of this hostel (or various apartments is really fantastic) however, the communicaiton skills of the company is terrible. They have the response time of a sloth by email and phone and when they do reply, they feed you that Parisian attitude. The bathrooms are not exactly sanitary and if you are looking for that "real" paris experience, as...

I must admit that I have not stayed in Lucky Youth, but I did have a reservation with them which I cancelled. I was very excited about my stay at Lucky, judging the reviews it has received to date. I reserved on hostelworld well in advance. I must explain that I will be driving around France for 6 weeks this...

As everybody knows, french people isn't known for its courtesy with tourist, and especially in Paris. And Lucky Youth on the contrary is the place in this exciting city when you'll be warmly welcomed. The most important thing: you're completly free to do what you want to do. No annoying reception girls --- you off about noise or somethong. If...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
