The first trip to France & Paris for my wife & 21 month son. Our arrival late afternoon from Charles De Gaule airport via RER & the metro down the dusty Rue de Passy was uninspiring (the June weather has been spectacular). Not familiar with the area I was beginning to think that perhaps I'd made a mistake. Entry into...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Nicolo in mid-May, 2010. Location is perfect, with lovely patisseries, groceries just around the corner. The walk to the Eiffel tower and beyond is easy. Whole place is immaculately clean. Breakfast was delicious, with a selection of fresh, seasonal fruits (raspberries and cantalope when we were there), breads, croissants, pastries, yogurt, coffee/tea. Service...

A little bit difficult to get to from the airport: Three trains and a half mile walk, but well worth the effort. This hotel is in a quiet shopping area of Paris away from the noise and tourists but only a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel tower. Breakfast was very tasty and varied with fresh bread, croissants, pastries, yoghurt,...

Small room, but tastefully furnished and clean, with very comfortable beds and windows that opened. Modern bathroom with large shower. Staff very helpful and efficient. Breakfast appeared promptly in the morning. The flower-filled courtyard was a little oasis from the heat and noise of Paris. The only thing that spoiled our trip was the Paris Shuttle which we found to...

Stayed 3 nights at Hotel Nicolo and enjoyed every minute! Great location near Eiffel tower and Tracadero. Hotel recommended some good restaurants nearby and were very pleasant. Very quiet hotel with a beautiful courtyard when you step in off the street. I would definately stay here again!

Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others. Researched the reviews here on TripAdvisor and have to agree with most of the assessments. Likes: *Location seems to be fairly good with respect to sightseeing in Paris; 5 - 10 min walk to either of 2 Metro stations (Passy & La Muette) and 1 RER station...

We were extremely impressed with this hotel, the service was excellent, the room above our expectations and the price was just right. This just shows how useful using TripAdvisor is as I booked the trip purely on the TripAdvisor reviews and was not dissapointed. This is where we will stay next time in Paris.

Stayed there for 3 nights with a friend. The Hotel is small, but the rooms are clean and very very nice, and the staff is diffidently there to help. Is located about 12 mins walk from the Eiffel Tower, 5 min from a metro, and in a very nice shopping and dinning area. You can find everything just around the...

Just got back from a wonderful stay at Hotel Nicolo, Paris. Very nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, and great breakfast. I recommend having it outside in the garden gazebo.

Very pleasant, unpretentious little hotel with friendly, helpful staff and a good location, all at a very reasonable rate.....there is nothing not to like about the Nicolo. The breakfast included in the rate was very good but don't leave it till the last half hour before they finish serving at 10.00am to go down as most other guests seem to,...

Staying in Trocadero

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
