Clean thin-walled room, I had a double bed and tiny shower/WC. My room was on the first floor, facing the little street that is very noisy in the day (nervous bus drivers), pretty noisy in the evening (café just below), and less noisy in the night. Sleeping with open windows has proven to be difficult then... The most appealing things...

I write this from another hotel, one that we checked into after one night of our planned five at the Hotel St. Pierre. Why are we in another hotel? Well, numerous reasons really. I'd confirmed the hotel, after having read the extremely positive reviews on here, and we were excited about staying someplace that not only sounded perfect but was...

I read the other reviews and happily booked my hotel hoping for the best and expecting...who knows? I was so thrilled with the the hotel. It was sparkling clean and the staff were great. The showers are small but no smaller than other european hotels I've been in. The best part was location. In the heart of things, but tucked...

You will not BELIEVE the location when you get there. Notre Dame/St Michel is SO close. The Monoprix (grocery) is just a few minutes walk. The metro is close. A bunch of great cafes/pubs are close. The neighborhood is cool, albeit buzzing with vespas in the morning. The staff is quirky and...French. But terribly friendly and we chatted with them...

This hotel is a little gem right next to Quartier Latin. My brother had stayed there the year before and, following his advice, he decided we should definitely stay there again. And he was right. Location: perfect, in a quiet and charming little street right by Boulevard Saint Michel. Metro stations were very close and neighborhood is absolutely perfect. Walking...

Basic, clean rooms, quite good location, but very small elevator and tiny corridors. Very nice church nearby!

I have stayed in several inexpensive hotels in this area and I'd say this is one of the better ones. When we arrived there was some confusion over which rooms we should be given (I think this was because the kind gent on the desk wanted to save us money by giving us two single rooms rather than the two...

I was in Paris for a conference at the end of March and decided to extend my stay by four days to really see Paris up close and personal, with absolutely no meetings to attend. I walked around Jardins de Luxumbourg where the conference hotel was and strayed into rue de l'Ecole de Medicine. I had stepped into five or...

As backpackers looking for an option outside of the typical hostel, we thought we would 'ritz' it up a bit and try this budget hotel. The hotel provided the following: a relatively clean bed, relatively friendly staff (although they wouldn't let me have my key until I said the room number in french!), a bathroom and a little tiny balcony...

This was an excellent place to stay. Everything we needed was close by. We will be recommending this place to all of our friends who go to stay in Paris. The room was good and the price was right.

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
