Can not recommend the Marignan highly enough! My first ever review, but this hotel deserves it! Stayed here in 2007 and again recently. Fabulous location near metro, delicious patisserie and great local market. Just a stroll to the Seine. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Pleasant decor. Extras include yummy breakfasts (baguettes), free laundry and access to fridge (to put fresh...

This hotel was excellent value for money. The location is superb just 5 minutes walk away from Notre Dame and very close to buses and Metro. The room was very clean, shower small but lashings of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were fantastic and its the first time I have ever been offered a cup...

I recently stayed in this hotel for four nights with my boyfriend. Everything about this hotel is average, except for the location. The location is excellent and just a short 5minute walk to many tourist attractions such as Notre Dame. It is also only a 2minute walk to two different metro stops. Breakfast was minimal, but breakfast outside the hotel...

We had a choice of a first floor room w/air conditionin or a 6th floor (called 5th in Paris) with a balcony. We suffered the stairs and were well rewarded by a balcony, cool breezes, roof line views and sun rises. Note: on the the 5th floor has a balcony. Of course the location of the hotel is excellent in...

Hotel Marignan was in an excellent location, helpful and friendly staff with clean rooms and comfortable beds. We stayed in a family room with 2 adults and 2 kids. We could conveniently store our luggage under one of the single beds which was quite high. There was also a pull out bed so could have fit a family of 5....

We joined another family of four for our first trip to Paris. This hotel was recommended by a friend for its value and excellent location. After our three night stay, we agree wholeheartedly. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Not only did they meet our needs, but they excelled at the little things that made our stay all the...

Very, very good in every way. Location, clean, safe, nice helpful staff. I was pick-pocketed at the Louve on our first morning of our trip and the hotel staff was extremely helpful in providing a quiet place with the use of their phone. I was able to make many calls to credit card companies with their assistance calling international. That hour was priceless,...

That has always been the unofficial motto of the Marignan, I think, and of course it's true. Two nearby metros to choose from, an easy walk to Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Jardin de Luxembourg, Shakespeare & Co, the Rue Mouffetard,....a thrice-weekly street market 2 blocks away...loads of small grocery stores, patisseries, wine shops, and every other kind of food store...

My Girl Guide group of 7 stayed in 2 rooms here in July. We found this hotel through Trip Advisor. This hotel is in a great location, close to multiple transit options and sites like Notre Dame, Louvre and more. The area is vibrant and affordable. Our rooms were spacious and clean. They had an air conditioner, but we didn't...

I have stayed at this hotel twice this year and would highly recommend it! It's in the heart of the latin quarter; Notre Dame is just down the road, as are countless retaurants and cafes. Plus the local metro (Cluny- La Sorbonne) is linked to the RER train station to Charles De Gaulle airport, which will save you a fortune...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
