My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and we felt that we were so centrally located. We were close to attractions (Louvre, Notre Dame) shopping (small shops in Rue du Four and nearby streets, Monoprix, Citypharma, Louis Vuitton), good cafes all within close distance. The room was small but not as small as I expected! I read most...

You will always feel you are paying a lot for a room in Paris. The room is always small, the bathroom is even smaller and the elevator, when it exists, is a case of "you or your suitcase". With this in mind, the Hotel de Saint-Germain is a good deal. Yes, the room is small but larger than I imagined....

The hotel is in a lovely neighborhood within short walking distance of multiple Metrorail lines, Luxembourg Gardens, Saint Suplice, and countless restaurants, bars and cafés. There are also many shops in the area, including a Monoprix. There is a friendly café next door where I had morning coffee several times. I had a single room which was small but not...

We stayed for two nights and this hotel has a number of good points, including helpful staff on the front desk. It is also conveniently located for the main attractions. The rooms are small and basic but clean and have a mini bar. There is also free Wi-fi which worked well. Unfortunately, however, I will not stay here again as...

A basic, but good value hotel in Saint Germain des Pres. We stayed at the Hotel de Saint Germain from Sept. 30 through Oct. 4. It is a lovely but simple hotel in the great neighborhood of Saint Germain des Pres. It is within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shops, as well as several of Paris' metro and...

The location was great, the hotel was clean, the rates were reasonable, but the room was so small we could hardly fit the two of us and our two suitcases into the room at the same time. I recommend the owners of the hotel read about micro apartment design principles, and incorporate some of those design ideas into their rooms....

Lovely rooms very clean and luxurious beds for single room. Very impressed. Staff great for advice and even happly to draw map so I could walk to great restaurant after arriving late evening. The shower is small I had to keep doors open but nice ensuit served it's purpose. Great shopping area and easy walk to supermarket and bars and...

My 4th visit to this friendly hotel was just like the rest:efficient very friendly and helpful. This time I had the added stress of forgetting my passport in the safe. The hostess met me at the door after I grabbed a taxi back from the airport! She also let us stay in the room for an extra 3 hours while...

The hotel had everything we needed, it was just too small for a family with a toddler. Of course that's just Paris though. The staff were always helpful and spoke English. They provided a cot free of charge. Breakfast was okay. Overall it was good

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
