We just returned from a 16 day trip to London, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. The Hotel Le Senat was by far the most comfortable, convenient, and hospitable hotel of all. The staff was excellent, the room was modern and serene, COLD a/c, one room with pocket doors that made it behave as 2 rooms for privacy for our teenage...

Loved the modern decor of Hotel Le Senat as well as the central location - just north of Boul. St. Germain and St. Michel. The bedding was luxurious and the bed was heavenly - I'd bet both were new which for a three star hotel in Paris is pretty amazing. The hotel staff spoke English very well and were very...

Perfect Left Bank hotel across from Jardin Luxembourg and three to six streets from all Left Bank sites. Great staff, good breakfast, and pleasant location. Rooms and elevator on the smallish side, but typical of the city. Good value for Paris!

The staff were incredibly friendly and were really helpful. The hotel is really close to Luxembourg RER, St Germain Blvd. But such narrow corridors and tiny room. In our room bathroom and toilet were separate (in different parts of the room) is not comfortable. Olso I don`t like pictures of smoking old men, not romantic(((

Loved this hotel. The location is wonderful. It's steps from the Luxembourg Gardens which we visited almost every day. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Felt like it had just been redone. Beds were comfortable with wonderful linens. We even had a closet to store our clothes. The bathroom was like new but small. Instant hot water!...

The staff were incredibly friendly and were really helpful. Everyone spoke excellent english but were happy for me to use my mediocre french. The rooms were well designed and very comfortable. The only thing was with the sofa bed made into a bed it was a bit tight around the door area. However we weren't in the room much so...

Of the many hotels we stayed in on this trip of a month to London and Paris this was my favourite. The location is superb, I love St Germain and the Latin Quarter and being a few blocks away from St Germain Blvd - but close enough to enjoy the latter also - meant that our focus included streets we...

Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly and efficient staff at the check in desk. They answered all of our questions and supplied us with information and brochures about attractions. Our room was very nice and clean. Although I had prepared myself for the smallness of the rooms in Paris based on many reviews I had read -- I...

I stayed at Le Senat for three nights on a family holiday. The hotel is really close to Luxembourg RER and there are quite a few metros around. The location is great for sightseeing and shopping. We arrived quite early and were expecting to just drop our bags off but they let us check into one of the two rooms....

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
