We booked this hotel because it was close to the Odeon metro and not too far from the Louvre and Notre Dam cathedrals. The hotel itself is small with a basic reception area that doubles up as a breakfast hall in the morning. The breakfast served is the same everyday, bread, butter, marmalade and tea or coffee. Quite a homely...

Room was cozy with plenty of space to move around, even with our 4 suitcases. Staff were friendly and efficient. Location was perfect, so close to Odeon metro. Walking distance to Luxembourg park, Louvre, Notre Dame...we were on second floor, so having no lift was not an inconvenience. Breakfast was simple, but tasty. We found the beds very comfortable, and...

This old hotel reminded me of the Paris I first visited when I was 16 years old more than half a century ago. I walk with a cane but the reception put me in a first floor room. I was able to open the window at night for fresh air. The bed was comfortable. The shower was tight but I...

Our second stay here, great location about 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame. The rooms are comfortable with lovely exposed wooden beams. Unusually for France, a simple bread and jam breakfast is included in the price, which is amazing given that this was the cheapest hotel we've come across in central Paris. Helpful, friendly staff. The only downside is the...

I booked a twin room at the hotel for 3 nights. Within an hour and a half of laying down to sleep on my bed, I felt something crawling on my arm. To my horror I realised that I had found several bed bugs in the bed. About 3 adult size and then another 4-5 smaller bugs. After checking myself...

I booked this hotel with realistic expectations, knowing there was no elevator and that the building is quite old. Even so, we were incredibly disappointed by the poor upkeep and unclean conditions. Our first night was fine; we requested a lower level room and were placed on the second floor (up two levels of a crooked, narrow, steep staircase). We...

This is an old hotel and you will get what you pay for. We had 2 nights in a 'family' room which had two double beds. The room was small and and staff were kind and helpful. I liked the continental brakfast in the reception area. The location in the Latin Quarter near Boulevarde St Germain, is excellent and gives...

When we decided to go for this hotel it seemed to have Parisian charm, however when we turned up the entrance reception was dirty, the carpets were very dirty and worn. Our room was 3 flights up and all the way up you could smell dampness. Our room - very basic no tv, no air con, no kettle, old furniture...

This is an old hotel and is a bit rundown. We had 2 nights in a 'family' room which had one double and one single bed. The room was small and cramped, and didn't come very cheap, but it is about what you would expect for a 2 star quality hotel in this part of Paris. Each morning they cram...

We chose this apartment for its location. Price wasn't as low, there were other options as well. It was a horrible experience. Though the city is beautiful people we encountered were really unfriendly. First there was quiet a waiting time to get the key. At the entrance there were 4 garbage bin just ( these bins are of different restaurants...

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
