This hotel was exactly what I was looking for...a clean hotel that was reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They speak English. This was my first visit to Paris so I was going off of the reviews that I had read on tripadvisor.com. My mother and I each had a single bed room (90 Euros a night).... More

We just returned from a 10 day stay at Hotel Minerve located in the heart of the Latin Quarter, just a short walk to Notre Dame and many other visitor sites. Also near Metro. Hotel is clean. Room was small - like most in the area - bed comfortably firm. Breakfast and serving staff also wonderful. The staff at the... More

Stayed for 4 nights on vacation, on the recommendation of a friend and other reviews here. Typically small rooms, but very clean, with friendly and helpful staff. We had a room on the small courtyard in the back which was exceptionally quiet compared to the rooms facing the busy Rue des Ecoles. Continental breakfast was exceptional. Considering the location (about... More

It was a lovely stay at the Minerve Hotel with its nice interior! Location was central as well. Would certainly choose to stay there again if we head to Paris!

I stayed here for about a week with a friend. The hotel was in an ideal location, metros very close, close to the Luxembourg Gardens which we frequented to people watch! The room and shower was tiny, but what I expected. (We had 2 twin beds) You don't find much bigger for the price, honestly. Why should you need a... More

We stayed here around 18 months ago, and whilst it's not the most amazing hotel in the world, it has a great wee charm. So much so, I ended up proposing on our room's balcony which overlooked the latin quarter and Notre Dame. Hence, it was booked again as part of our honeymoon - same room in fact! So it... More

The rooms at this hotel are very small. And every minute or so there was a thunderous rumbling which we assumed was from the Metro trains running below the street. The front desk staff were generally rude, and there seemed to be a different person on each time we went down. On the plus side the rooms were clean and... More

My husband and I and a friend stayed here for three nights over New Years. The hotel location is really ideal. Near several Metro stops and within walking distance of the river, Notre Dame, the Rue Mouffetard Market and many restaurants and bars. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom seemed to have been recently redone and the... More

The Minerve is a pretty decent hotel in a good location in Paris but a tad overpriced in my opinion. The hotel facilites aren't really anything other than clean rooms and bathrooms. The room we were staying in was quite small and cramped though the room was clean. The winning point for the hotel is its location - walking distance... More

This is a beautiful little hotel in a slightly out-of-the way spot in the Latin Quarter. Reasonably close to the metro. My double room was decent sized for Paris with a beautiful modern bath. Lovely lobby. Downside: Typical French bad attitude on service. Where do they get off with this? They totally screwed up my airport shuttle reservations both coming... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
