My wife and daughter and I had a fine 8 night stay at Hotel Minerve. The staff members were all cheerful and eager to help. Fresh flowers at desk each morning. We received help on metro stops, van to airport, airplane confirmation via e mail. When we needed to change plans, the staff researched and accommodated us. Very convenient location...

the hotel minerve in paris is a very good place to stay. as is the norm in europe the rooms were fairly small, but not so much that you did not have some space to move around. as for all the good things: the price was very reasonable and comparable to all the other hotels. the location (latin quarter) was...

We called the Hotel La Famille just about 48 hours ahead of our needing a quad room for our family in Paris. I had read that the managers were very hospitable and indeed they were very helpful when we called. La Famille did not have a room for both nights so they suggested La Minerve, their sister property right next...

`We enjoyed two nights at the Minerve, ideally located in the Latin Quarter and close to several excellent restaurants and great places to visit. The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating; the room was spotlessly clean and adequate in size. The Minerve is owned by the same family as the Familia next door, which has long enjoyed a reputation for...

The rooms are quite small but are very clean. The location is excellent - situated in the Quartier Latin within walking distance of 3 Metro stations and bus stops. For rooms at the front of the hotel, the road is not busy at night and the french doors are double glazed, so they are quiet. The breakfast is a bit...

We wouldn't stay here again, but didn't regret staying there either. The place was pricey for what you got, but the location was great for our six day visit. (Two blocks south of the Seine in the Latin Quarter). I booked two rooms (one for my grandparents). When we arrived each couple was given a large chamber, but our room...

I just returned home after a seven night stay at this wonderful little hotel. I arrived at 1130, room was ready within 15 minutes. Had a small single, was typical European room. The bathroom decent, updated with a small stall shower. Stayed in room 409, nice window for fresh air, looking into small courtyard. Please remember this is Europe, the...

We stayed at the Minvere hotel in March 2009, and were very pleased with the accomodations, the staff, and especially the location. There did not appear to be many other guests at the time, so it was very quiet. The room was small, but we did not spend much time in it, and there was adequate space for two people...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
