The receptionist was horrible. She was so Rude and tried ripping us off on cab fare . You are better off booking at another hotel . A great or even good hotel when they get bad reviews at least would address it. I should of known better when I saw a couple of bad reviews and the hotel didn't respond...

A group of four of us stayed at Carlton's for two nights last weekend. We paid £105 each for bed and breakfast. After reading some reviews on here we were a little apprehensive but need not have worried at all. The hotel is very easy to find and centrally located in Montmarte. We actually chose to walk from Gard du...

Today I will leave Paris and I just wanted to let you know that I have had a wonderful stay at Carlton's hotel. Before I came here, I have read the reviews and they are not all positive. Fortunately for me, the bad ones are not true. While on the outside, the hotel doesn't promise much of a 4 star,...

If you're into Sacre Coeur Church or Moulin Rouge this is the hotel for you. It is only a 15 minute walk to either site because it is situated on the sourthern edge of Montmartre. It is also only a 5 minute walk in either direction to a subway stop (either Anvers or Pigale) which is a main line that...

My husband and I and our 11 daughter booked a triple room and found we were in a suite consisting of 2 rooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds. We also had 2 bathrooms, one with shower and basin and one with loo and basin. There was plenty of room and not seeing any of the other...

Carlton`s can`t be 4 star as they pretend: very simple and very small rooms, also simple breakfast. That wouldnt have been such a big problem for just one weekend, but the staff was terribly rude. It was my birthday so I`ve asked the reception clerk to call a few fine dining restaurants to book a table for me and my...

This is a superb hotel in the Montmartre area - with great transport links in a vibrant part of the city. The hotel has a fascinating history hosting famous jazz singers visiting in the 1920s and 1930s and also an interesting WW2 history. The hotel is basic but does what is offers very well. The breakfasts are very good and...

We were in Paris in December, and booked the hotel online. Had another expectation about the hotel, which has a renewed part and an older one. We stayed in the old one. The room was relatively small, with all decoration from the eighties, or so. But overall the room was neat, clean and warm. The location was ok, but breakfast...

Great location right beside Monmatre and easy access to Anvers metro station. Velib bike rental station right in front of hotel too. Room are typically small for Paris with decent furnishings - we got a room on the 7th floow which wasn't part of the art deco refurb. Breakfast was good by Paris hotel standards at this price level. Staff...

Booked this hotel through a search engine and got it almost 150 euro cheaper than the next price offered so my expectations of a room with a view were nil and I wasn't disappointed in this regard. However, no view aside, our room was small but spotlessly clean and decorated in a pseudo art deco style which could be lived...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
