My room had a window that could not be opened. Unfortunate, but something I could deal with. The main problem I had was the glass was papered over on the outside. It looked like the painters forgot to remove the masking tape and butcher paper. The effect was like staying in a prison where you could not see the outside...

A 3 star hotel that is very much overrated! The rooms are clean but very small. The bathroom has a very, very small shower. There is a 19 "television without international channels, only French. Open balcony in the rooms only on the 5th floor. The reception is French in the daytime but the entire back staff are from Ceylon. Nice...

Rooms are relatively well-kept and the building itself is pretty nice. The location fabulous - a stone's throw from the Luxembourg gardens in the rue madame. Walking distance to St Sulpice, St Germain and so on. Highly recommended. Service and staff perfectly fine.

I am just reading your comments on you last stay with us and I am very sorry by your poor feelings. Just a few explanations : - the hotel building if from last century and is a parisian typical "hausmann" building (from Baron Haussmann who rebuilt Paris end of XiX century). In these types of constructions, there is always balcony...

This Hotel rests on a lovely corner of Rue Madame, right next to the gorgeous Jardin du Luxembourg and a quick stroll to any number of exciting places to visit. It is very chic in its simplicity, not in the very least pretentious. Its management and staff are always courteous and attentive, with a je ne sais quoi that adds...

This hotel is within easy walking distance from public transport. I found check in very easy and friendly. I was given a wifi code. My room was clean, bed was comfortable. All major attractions are within easy access. I felt very safe as a lone female traveller at this hotel. I will return and have recommended to my family and...

Lovely little hotel in a good location next to Luxembourg Gardens. Rooms are quite small, but reasonable for Paris. The décor could do with an update, but again is perfectly acceptable considering the price. The bed is far to firm for my back and really lets this hotel down in my view. There are lots of nice bars, restaurants and...

This was the perfect place for my stay traveling solo in Paris. I got a 3rd floor corner room that was small (which I expected), yet had two windows with Juliet balconies opening to the streets below -- very charming. There is nothing fancy here, just very clean, comfortable and functional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location...

We just returned from Paris where we stayed at the Hotel Perreyve for the entire two weeks. It was perfect! Small intimate hotel with a very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast every am before we left for the day. We were less than a block from the Luxembourg Gardens and surrounded by small cafes, bistros, grocery shops and close...

Perriyve is located one block from the Luxenbourg Gardens and near good public transportation. The staff is extremely helpful. There are good restaurants near by but this is a residential area so you see the local life of Paris. Children, families, single people. The hotel is quiet. Rooms on the top floor are the largest. Like many Paris hotels most...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
