We stayed at the Henri for 2 nights. The hotel is located in the 5eme and, therefore, very centrally located. It is situated on a quiet little side street, but the general area has several eating and shopping establishments. As for the hotel itself, it is quite nice. The lobby is small, but very well kept. The staff is very...

We spent a week at the Henri IV for our 10th anniversary. The staff was courteous and spoke English. The room (#60, standard double on the top floor) was larger than we had anticipated, had air conditioning, a small balcony, and an updated bathroom. The hotel was very quiet, as it was a couple of blocks from the busy rue...

We loved the Hotel Residence Henri IV. The rooms were extremely clean and well cared for, my biggest worry booking a hotel I had never seen. The staff, especially Isham, were so helpful. We did choose to have breakfast in the hotel and did not regret it. A typical European (continental) breakfast, very generous portions, coffee, milk, and juice. The...

I booked the Hotel Residence Henri IV after much research using Tripadvisor, and a couple of other sites available on the internet. The room rates were reasonable, and not over priced for what you got. I travelled during the second week in April, just before the busy season. This research really paid off, as I and my partner were not...

We stayed here for four nights with our two kids ages 5 and 8 and really enjoyed our stay. It was centrally located and a decent amount of space. It also had a small kitchen area. The bathroom was clean and overall it was really comfortable. The Latin Quarter is a perfect place to stay. Lots of restaurants and you...

I'm hardly a world traveler, but I travel for business occasionally and try to leverage the trips. This January was Paris! Spent the first part of the trip at Disney Paris New York Hotel (fine hotel, but who wants to travel from California to go to Disney?). I wanted a moderately priced hotel in the left bank. I learned my...

We booked this hotel for our Honeymoon and were not disappointed. The staff were excellent, warm and friendly. We had a great room and found a small gift there on our arrival. The location of this hotel is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the metro and 10 minutes to the Seine and Notra Dame. The room was serviced...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
